ABOUT ME

Hi,

I'm Suh and I'm a wanderer, a seabird, a grapefruit, a time-traveler and a storyteller, who loves to see new places and meet with new people.

I'm currently living in Bangkok, Thailand, since May 2016.

Before that I've traveled in The US for one month (March-April 2016), road tripping through California, Arizona and New Mexico. It was an amazing journey in many different aspects, an eye opener, which made me fly.

I was living in Istanbul for one year (2014-2015), and that was a truly great experience. Turkey and Istanbul have a very special place in my heart.

In 2015 I was living and traveling in Asia (South Korea and Japan) for half a year. That was also a true experience. To travel back to a place you've once been, to return, brings some unavoidable questions.

I've been living in Berlin at two occasional periods. Most recently was August 2015 - May 2016.
(Before that for a year, between 2013-2014.)

Since I didn't live in one place for some years, I haven't been able to host people. But I'm always up for meeting new people!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I only have one experience, and that was a really good one. In 2012 me and my friend visited Budapest for the first time, and got hosted by Robert. We stayed at his place for some days, and he is truly a loving soul with a free spirit. He showed us his hostage, and reminded me of how I myself wish to be as a host. Giving and sharing from himself, he made me feel truly grateful and he was a huge part of us having a magic stay in his city.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

(I couldn't choose just one..)

To live in Istanbul, Turkey, for almost a year gave me so much in all possible ways. One evening with A. by the sea, we sat close to the big rocks, the light was about to soon disappear, and the air was boiling, yet so tender. The night was young. We sat by the sea and we didn't speak much, we observed what we could perceive and afterwards, A. took me to his house that he shared together with is brother. I loved that wooden-house with its' old stairs and high ceilings, I loved the smells that came from the kitchen, a smell of security and feeling of home. A.'s brother made an amazing dinner that evening, he made it as only he can, and I knew that what seems like the most simple things are the ones I value the most. So afterwards the rain and the sounds on the window-glass. The smoke that dissolved into the air and that feeling I will never forget: The one of being alive.

Many years ago now, in Berlin, I spent two days and nights hanging out with my friend and a person we met by coincidence at the train-station when when just had arrived from the flight. He had taking the wrong date of when he was going back to his country, and after that we decided to hang out until the day after, when his actual flight was departuring. It was magic to hang out with someone we didn't know in that kind of form. It was summer and we did everything from going to clubs, drink beer, listening to music, hanging in the apartment me and my friend lived in - to paint ourselves as indians and have a morning-walk in the early sun and then take the train to Wansee and swim in the big lake. Everything was filled with magic and I will never forget those two days and nights that the three of us spent together.

In Bali, at a family-trip I did when I was 13 years old. We went by boat at the sea. The sea felt wide open, it filled me with the feeling that everything was possible. The young man that drove the boat played the song "Lemontree" by Fools Garden from his radio. I remember he sang when the song played and I remember I felt both glad and a little bit sad because everything felt so good I wished it would never end. It felt like the whole world was far away. I will never forget the beauty of the sea or the man that drove the boat and his song.
