I am about to finish a master in freshwater ecology in Vienna. After two hot summers there (I am definitely not a summer person) now I will spend some time in the very opposite, the aparrently most rainy city of Norway, Bergen! For an internship where I will count salmons and help in river restoration projects, I am looking forward to it :) In my free time, when I am not nerdy determining insect larvae or analysing the phosphate content of water samples, I enjoy being in the mountains; camping, hiking, climbing, paragliding, skitouring... despite being very active I am also quite good in sleeping long in the morning and relaxing over a good cup of coffee and a nice talk!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I don't like the way of travelling when you book your flight, get into your 5*-hotel and relax the whole day on the overcrowded beach. What kind of travelling I love is taking your backpack, hitchhike to any place - and get to know "local people"! In my opinion this is the best way to get to know a country or culture.
While my travels I really realized that the most amazing thing about travelling is to meet new and interesting people from another culture, have great discussions and learn from each other. I believe by using Couchsurfing, Workaway or other platforms this is the best and easiest way to do so.

Interests

I love any kind of outdoor activities especially in the mountains - rock climbing, bouldering, slacklining, hiking, skiing, cycling, trekking, camping, ski tours, ice skating - the list is long ;)
I love as well relaxed evenings, vegan cooking or baking, playing board-/cardgames, discovering new things, travelling, snow...

I can teach you some german or french, cook german or some cameroonian dishes, I know some cardgames which I can show your or share travel experiences :)
