About Me
Hi! I’m Anna Maria, currently studying Sustainable Enterprise Development in Sweden 🌱. I’m passionate about finding ways for businesses to grow while being mindful of the environment and society.
I was born and raised in Italy, but I currently live in Sweden. My parents are Moldovan, and my roots are Russian—which you might notice from my last name 😉 All of this has shaped who I am: a true cosmopolitan with an open mind, curious about the world and always excited to meet people and make friends from all over 🌍
I love to spend time outdoors, whether it’s enjoying a relaxed summer evening, going for a walk in nature, biking through scenic routes, or exploring the beauty of cities—especially their architecture and history. During the winter, I also enjoy cozy moments indoors, sipping a warm cup of tea in a comfortable spot.
When I'm indoors, you’ll find me reading a good book, listening to music, or practicing yoga and pilates to stay centered. I’m always looking for meaningful connections and spontaneous little adventures along the way.
I know I don’t have any reviews yet—I'm brand new to this platform! I discovered Couchsurfing thanks to a friend, and I’m really excited to start this journey and create my first experiences here 🤗 I’m a peaceful, open-minded, and respectful person who enjoys sharing thoughts, meals, or simply good company—and I love talking about life and everything in between ✨
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m on Couchsurfing because I love connecting with people from different cultures 🌍, hearing their stories, and sharing meaningful moments. For me, traveling isn’t just about visiting places—it’s about the people you meet, the conversations you have, and the little everyday experiences that make a place feel alive ✨.
Couchsurfing makes it possible to experience cities and cultures from a local perspective, in a way that feels more human and spontaneous 🤝. I also see it as a way to travel more often, not only when I have a big budget saved up 💸. Being able to save money on accommodation means I can explore new parts of the world more frequently, and make travel a natural part of my life, not just a rare treat 🧳.
I believe in a world where generosity and curiosity are shared values, and where people open their homes and hearts to others 💛. Couchsurfing is a beautiful example of that.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love listening to a wide variety of music—one of my favorite genres is Latin American music. I enjoy everything from old-school classics to the latest hits. Some of the artists I listen to most often include Nathy Peluso, Rauw Alejandro, Rosalía, Bad Bunny, Tokischa, Becky G, Karol G, Romeo Santos, and the legendary Celia Cruz 💃
I’m also into indie music, especially in Italian—Calcutta, Frah Quintale, and Willie Peyote are some of my favorites. I listen to a mix of artists like Caparezza, Lana Del Rey, Bruno Mars, The Weeknd, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, and the incredible Amy Winehouse. One of my all-time favorite songs is Killing Me Softly with His Song 🎶 I also love Arctic Monkeys, Michael Jackson, ABBA, Queen, Louis Armstrong, Alicia Keys, Billie Eilish, Bob Marley, Soha—and even Outkast and Eminem. I also enjoy listening to Portuguese music 🇵🇹
When it comes to movies, I’m a bit more selective—I tend to go for dramas, comedies, and meaningful stories rather than horror. Some of my favorites include Dirty Dancing, Pride & Prejudice, Forrest Gump, Fight Club, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Joker, and Oppenheimer 🎥
As for books, I have a deep love for literature—both prose and poetry. I went to a language-focused high school where I studied Italian, English, Spanish, and German literature 📚 I enjoy reading both timeless classics and powerful contemporary authors. Some of the writers I admire include Shakespeare, Orwell, the Brontë sisters, Lorca, Pasolini, Pavese, Goethe, Márquez, Borges, Almudena Grandes, and Paulo Coelho.
I’m particularly drawn to novels with psychological depth, intriguing mysteries, and strong socio-political themes. Some of my favorite books include Animal Farm by George Orwell, as well as works by authors like Freud, Kafka, Dino Buzzati, Haruki Murakami, and Alice Walker.
In short, I’m passionate about the classics, but I also enjoy contemporary voices—especially when they make me reflect deeply or see the world from a new perspective.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most unforgettable experiences I've had was when I participated in an Erasmus+ project focused on sustainability in Lithuania. It was a unique opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals from all over Europe, learn from their diverse perspectives, and contribute to meaningful discussions about environmental and social responsibility. During the project, I not only gained valuable knowledge about sustainable practices but also formed lasting friendships that continue to inspire me in my personal and professional life.
This experience was a reminder of how powerful it is to step outside of your comfort zone, embrace new cultures, and collaborate with people who share your passion for making a positive impact on the world.
Teach, Learn, Share
I believe that the best way to grow is through learning from others and sharing what we know. I love teaching others about sustainability and how businesses can align their growth with environmental and social responsibility. It's one of the areas I’m most passionate about, and I enjoy sharing knowledge on topics like sustainable practices, green technologies, and how we can all make a positive impact on our planet 🌍.
In addition, I’m deeply committed to social issues such as human rights, fighting discrimination, racism, sexism, and promoting gender equality. I believe that fostering inclusivity, respect, and equity is key to creating a better society for all, and I actively engage in discussions and initiatives that promote these values. It's important to me to help others understand how we can collectively contribute to a world where everyone’s rights are respected and protected.
On the other hand, I’m eager to learn from people with different experiences and skills—whether it's discovering new music, learning a new language, or hearing different cultural perspectives. I’m especially interested in deepening my knowledge of local cultures and traditions from all over the world 🌎
I’m also happy to share my experiences in managing a balance between life, study, and passion, and I always look forward to hearing others’ stories and the lessons they’ve learned along the way. Whether it’s a small gesture, a meaningful conversation, or sharing a cup of tea, I love connecting with others and building memorable moments.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I’m happy to share a lot of things with my hosts! Whether it’s engaging conversations about sustainability, social issues, political topics, and relationship dynamics, or simply learning from each other’s experiences, I always believe in the power of shared knowledge and genuine connection. I love discussing not only social and political matters but also topics like travel, culture, personal experiences, and much more. I’m very versatile and enjoy talking about all sorts of things—there’s always something new to learn from each other!
I can offer insights into sustainable living practices, ways to create a more eco-friendly environment, and how businesses can adopt green technologies and responsible practices. I’m also passionate about social justice issues, such as human rights, gender equality, and creating inclusive communities, so I’m always up for deep conversations on these topics.
Additionally, I’m happy to share my experiences in managing a balanced life, studying, and cultivating passions, such as yoga, pilates, and a love for nature and animals. I can also bring a little piece of Italy and Moldova into your life with stories, cultural exchanges, and maybe even a homemade Italian meal! 🍝
Most importantly, I bring an open mind, a respectful attitude, and a willingness to learn from you. I believe in creating meaningful connections with others and will always cherish the time spent together, whether it’s sharing knowledge, ideas, or simply enjoying a peaceful moment.
