ABOUT ME

Hello everybody. I really really really hate about me questions, so here goes my best shot:
I was born and raised in California, moved to Wiesbaden in 2000 with my Mom, spent 4 years in boarding school and then fell in love with the city of Trier and moved there. I'm studying to become a teacher in English and German.
But for now I'm looking for the Great Perhaps. (if you are not familiar with the works of John Green - go read them. Now.)

The rest of my time is spent with reading a lot, and spending a questionable amount on tumblr or watching series and movies. I love storys, telling them and listening to them. I like to cook and annoy people with my sense of humor and weird facts.
I'm shy although not quite, crazy at times, loyal, friendly, loving, always have an open ear and lending hand, bit rough around the edges and, which brings me to this site, adventurous.

PHILOSOPHY

Its pretty simple, in my opinion. "Live and let live". I'm a pacifist, I believe in communication and second chances. I believe we all deserve happyness and should try to help others in their search thereof. But I also believe in respect. If my freedom and happyness is hurting or constricting others then I need to step down.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well for now I am a silent lurker. But I plan to hit the road sometime by the end of this year and would like to hook up with people likeminded and shamelessly abuse their offers of staying on their couch by actually doing that. Whoever offers shall get a complimentary self-knitted hat. I swear they shall be collecters items when I am a famous author.

Music, Movies, and Books

Pretty much everything by Stephen King. The guy is my religion. Also some of Franz Kafkas work. John Green (Paper towns and The fault in our stars in particular).
My opinion on books is the same as Kafkas. (loosly translated)A book should be like an ax to the frozen sea in ourself.
Musicwise I'm a mess. I love classic rock, indie, some dubstep, movie/series scores, a bit of metal, some raeggy, some german indierock, a little bit of classical. Seriously I'm all over the place.
Favourite Series are Supernatural, Doctor Who, Sherlock, but you don't really want to talk to me about them unless you want to unleash the inner fangirl.
Movies; Boondock Saints, Star wars, Blade Runner, Dead Poets Society, Field of Dreams and oh my god I could just go on and on.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One thing? Are you kidding me?
I rode a camel in Dubai. I went sledding down the great wall of China. I've been on a sailing adventure in the Schären of Sweden. I've been to NY (mostly shopping. Don't judge.) and looked down from the empire state building. I got burried in sand in Hawaii, fell asleep, and woke up to a giant turtle sitting right next to me. I've swam with wild dolphins in Florida.
In short, I've benefited from a life with flying priveledges (go Mom for working at lufthansa) and a widespread globetrotting Family.

The text underneath this field is actually really really cute. Just saying.
As to what I have to teach; I'm really modest so nothing really comes to mind. I can teach you some swearwords in German. I can knit if you want to have a crashcourse in that. I have a lot of book and movie and series and music reccomendations.
But most of all I have a lot of storys to tell and I'd love to hear yours.
