About Me

I'm a new transfer student to CSUS and looking for a place to crash while looking for something more permanent.
I love the theater, playing board games, going to the Renaissance Festival and Comic Conventions, singing, swimming, and exploring the area I'm in. I'm shy but adventurous and love seeing and learning new things. I don't drink much but I stil enjoy going out to dance or hanging out, talking all night.
I have a pretty random mix of interests so some people think I'm kinda weird but I take it as a compliment. Life is more interesting if you refuse to let others put you in boxes.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love seeing new places and believe that every city is worth seeing due to its unique history and atmosphere.
My favorite way of traveling is to visit friends and let them show me whatever they think is most interesting about their home but since I don't know people in all the places that I want to see, yet, making new friends while visiting them is the next best thing.

Couchsurfing has helped me find amazing hosts in Los Angeles, New York, New Orleans and Chicago who were incredibly helpful in making my way around those big cities.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm bad with genres but my favorite radio station says they play indie, alternative, guitar pop & rock.
My favorite bands are Bonaparte (crazy), The xx (calm) and Tegan and Sara (poppy).
My favorite movies are a colorful mix of The Labyrinth (with David Bowie, not Pan's Labyrinth although I love that one, too), Juno, Donnie Darko, Pulp Fiction, Beetlejuice, Easy A, and for Christmas: The Miracle on 42nd Street. As for TV shows, the best thing ever is the reimagined Battlestar Galactica; Fringe, Dark and You were really great as well. I've seen a lot of How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory and New Girl but lost track of all three of them.
I'm a slow reader and get distracted by screens too easily so I definitely don't read as much as I'd like to.
I love The King Killer Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss: The Name of the Wind, and The Wise Man's Fear and especially the little spin-off, background glimpse into a supporting character in The Slow Regard of Silent Things.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have kayaked through the Boston Harbor with a friend who I visited for a weekend.
On the way back it was getting dark, presenting us with calm water that almost looked like a dark mirror and a breathtaking view of illuminated downtown as well as airplanes departing right over our heads.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can help with practicing German if you're trying to learn it.
With some wool and a matching hook, I can teach you the basics of crocheting.

I would love to practice my belly dancing if you have experience with that.
Speaking some French with a native speaker would be great although I'm really not sure how much of it I can remember.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Lots of stories about places I've seen, people I've met, and things I've done.
I have a few topics I'm especially passionate about sharing with others. Like alternatives to the pill or tampons, or challenging the idea that monogamy is the default setting for human beings. But I would never force my opinion on anyone and you can always chose a topic you like best.
