About Me

one day I found a postcard saying: I’m on the road of recovery... just kidding... i’m on the way to the airport.
true words- my favourite train in vienna takes me to the airport or at least to the main train station to catch another train. and because life is short (at least it feels like this as time flies by so quickly), i take every chance to get away and explore new places. nevertheless my friends and family are very important, so they are the only reason that can make me stay at home for a whole weekend from time to time..
I can be very chatty and I smile most of the time, because life is beautiful!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

meeting and staying with locals adds another great experience to travelling, as you won't only remember this beautiful place / city/ country, but also the amazing people who shared their life with you for a few days.
there are so many interesting and amazing people in this world, and couchsurfing is an opportunity to get to know at least a few of them!

Interests

as i’m working a lot at the moment my free time is packed with all kinds of activities, starting with meeting friends, doing some sports, cooking or baking or enjoying a coffee/drink at a nice spot (vienna has plenty of them). i try to get away as often as possible, so i don’t spend many weekends in vienna. I can get enthusiastic about many things (I didn't necessarily like before) if I have good company. so if there’s anything you’d absolutely like to do just let me see the sparkle in your eyes and i’m in ;) I also love beautiful things and sometimes it's really hard to not buy the probably fiftieth mug or postcard or whatever. if you should ever catch me throwing an eye on stuff like that, please kindly remind me that I Really. Don't. Have. Any. Space. Left. In. My. Suitcase. thank you ;)
Café-Hopping, das, was invented in March 2016 in Hambourg. You walk from one Café to the next while you try to find as many reasons as possible why you absolutely need to stop there. it can easily be a full-day activity.

Music, Movies, and Books

my all-time favorite definitely is 'le petit prince' and ‘the time-travellers wife’. I also really like most books of Simon Beckett and Charlotte Link, but basically I read everything I can get. Unfortunately I mostly read very quickly and many books are way to thin! I could spend days in a book shop (be prepared...), finishing a book by accident.. I still have a long list of movies I want to watch (there are no horror films on that list!), but I absolutely love 'Once', which makes me want to go back to Ireland as soon as possible and stay there forever (if there weren’t so many other beautiful places left to discover...)!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

it's hard to pick one, because when you think back you realize how many amazing things you've actually done during the last years.
one special experience for sure is staying in touch an meeting up with my first two hosts, and realising how much you actually trust each other despite having spent only some days together. thank you travelling!

Teach, Learn, Share

of course I can teach you some German if you're interested, and also some words that are typical for either Austria or South Germany.
and I can always cook or bake something for / with you, and I would be very happy to get taught a typical dish from your country (or your favorite dish).

I'd love to hear stories about travel experiences, moments from your daily life, family, friends, whatever is on your mind. I'm really interested in foreign cultures and traditions but I know far too less about it unfortunately.
