I'm Anna and I love seeing more beautiful places on our planet. I also like taking it easy and sometimes forgetting where I am because of the friends I'm with or the great people I meet.

I'm a global sustainability bachelors student from the Netherlands so my interests lay in environmental topics, nutrition, organic food, natural healing. I like gaining insight about different religions (I believe all religions are a pathway to being spiritual but you don't need religion to be spiritual). I like jogging and being active in general. Watching good films, listening to R&B music, hiphop, indie bands and more. I'm always up for dancing or playing cards.

I would describe myself as polite, clean, open minded and seeking for adventure.
I was born in Sri Lanka and grew up mostly in the Netherlands (Amsterdam and Alkmaar) and partly in Birmingham, England. I can speak English, Dutch, Sinhalese and French.

I wouldn't know what else to say about myself other than that good conversations are what keep me going :)

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I've just started to travel a lot since I started university and Couchsurfing is a great way to a) get to know people and start new conversations b) stay for free or cheap at someone's home which definitely helps as I'm on a student budget. I have a lot of friends around the world but sometimes I need to make friends with strangers haha :)

I love the series; black mirror, orphan black, game of thrones, stranger things, avatar the legend of aang.
Films: the grand Budapest hotel, Pulp fiction, Avatar, call me by your name, George of the jungle, pirates of the Caribbean, Wild, into the wild, Boyhood, the killing of a sacred deer.... etc.
Books: americana, 1984, the colour purple, the alchemist, Kafka on the shore.
Music: R&B, Hiphop (biggie fan), indie bands (like the paper kites, many voices speak..) reggae, composers such as joep beving etc..

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Lived the mökki life in the Finnish forest next to lake Saima in the summer (=no running water at the cabin, much nakedness, sauna time and berry picking)

Floated in the Dead Sea and the next day overlooked Jerusalem and walked through the old city that was once home to Jesus.

Hitch hiked with some hippies and my close friend and camped on the beach near cabo de roca one night after she lost her phone and all hotels were fully booked.

Graduated from the European School!

Danced for 13 hours straight at a techno party, no kidding. Also this was sober!!
