About Me

Ok, first things first: I am NOT the most concise person in the world.
I am trying to put together a profile long enough to give you an idea of who I am, but not that long that I will have nothing else to tell you about me when we meet.

My best Friend calls me "Adam&Eve", which is also the name of my once local pub. Funny thing is I chose what would become my home for two years, because I saw that pub on my way back from the very first (and only) viewing.
You see, I believe in signs and that was A BIG ONE!
I am impulsive and follow my instinct, at times, but I also think a lot, and fast, and in multiple languages most of the time.

I am a funny little creature, I've been told: I smile and I laugh a lot, but can also pout and sulk as much (not in public, though). I am curious (oh, yes I am), eager to learn, I am bubbly (which means I'm louder than the average English person, but probably only slightly quieter than a fellow Italian one), I am an enthusiast.
About what? Everything and anything!
And believe me: there's so much I do not know, and I wish I did, and I hope I will.
A friend's friend, an actor, once called me "an Almodovar-like character", which deeply flattered me. Still not sure that was a compliment, but chapeau to me.

I can talk for hours and hours on end, but I also love listening to what other people have to say; in fact, I have learned later in life that you don't need to say anything if there's nothing to be said, that silence is precious. Communication is key in life, but it's not always only about the words people say: that much I know.

(this profile is already starting to be far too long)

In a few words, things I love: languages, music, people, respect, different cultures, food from all over the globe (but I'm slightly partial when it comes to olive oil and mozzarella, sorry), and travelling is the one thing that allows you to experience all of the above, isn't it?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I decided I would be studying foreign languages when I was about 10 and I believe, subconsciously, I knew that was the key to go places, see the world, meet new people, not be average, learn something new, improve myself.
Then I did learn a couple of languages, I ran around a lot (as a headless chicken: what a simile!), but never really managed to travel as much as I wanted.

I'd heard a lot about CS and thought maybe it was too late, I was too old to do that?
But truth is I am not and above all, I must admit, I had totally misunderstood the meaning and the concept of Couchsurfing, that's it's not just about a couch to sleep on: it's about the people you meet on the way, whom you probably wouldn't otherwise and who are part of the experience and of the journey itself and make it more beautiful, no matter how much time you spend with them.

And above all, I have realised I don't want to go through this with an "I have to make up for lost time" kind of attitude, but with the same enthusiastic and dreamy eyes of a 10-year-old little girl who wants to see what there is beyond her garden.

Music, Movies, and Books

Where do I start and especially, when will I ever finish, if I start now (have you read the above?).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I managed a music club for two years in my home country (Italy): my own little baby. My music, my life.
I went back to University and graduated with flying colours at the age of 35 and cried with my Dad for the first time in my life.
I took a 6-months hiatus from work to give myself some time and some space, look after my mental health, recalibre, think about what I I really wanted to do in life and what really made me happy.

(the list will grow longer, I know)

Teach, Learn, Share

(Only one each, I promise)

Teach: how to make focaccia!

Learn: E - VE - RY - THI - NG

What I Can Share with Hosts

My deepest secrest. Not enough?

I will always be happy to share happy nights in/nights out, funny chats, walks, precious moments, my house, your house, my memories, advice.

I will not accept any impersonal or copy/paste requests, though, so don't get offended if I reply with a no, and tell you as much: I love meeting people and love discovering about them, their world, their experiences, and I send out requests explaining all of this, because that's the true spirit of Couchsurfing in my opinion: it's not a free accommodation service.
I would like to host people who think along these lines too and are curious about the same about me, and for that to transpire from their requests.
Please mention “Cesaria” in your request, so I know you’ve at least take the time to read my profile and know who I am.
