About Me
About us...
We moved from Germany to Sweden one year ago, since Anna got accepted for a masters course in Uppsala. So far, we really like to live in Uppsala. Johannes works as a software engineer in Stockholm and has to commute every day and Anna is quite busy with her studies in "soil and water management". Thats why we prefer to host people during the weekends.
We like good food and a glas of red wine on our balcony, just as spending time out in the forest, at a lake or a outdoor music festival.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When we moved to Sweden, we had to find a place to stay while looking for apartments. The hostels in Uppsala are quite expensive and so a friend of us suggested cochsurfing. We were very lucky and our host at that time is now one of our best friends in Uppsala.
We don't expect to make best friends every time, but couchsurfing is a great opportunity to meet interesting people and getting an insight into places, you can only get via locals, as well as helping people to have a great stay while visiting your city.
Interests
Watching movies in our own little cinema (big screen and projector): wide range from funny-romantic french movies to Stanley Kubrick and documentaries.
Scuba diving: We did our OWD some years ago in cold and dark german lakes. Our most amazing dive since then was at the Poor Knights Islands (New Zealand). Unfortunaly, its such an expensive hobby that we are not doing it as often as we would like to.
Hiking: We are not professional nor extreme, we just like to be outside and enjoy nature.
others: computer science, photography and politics (Johannes), environmental science, swimming and arts (Anna)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Before we moved to Sweden, we were travelling New Zealand for half a year. We lived in a very old van with a selfmade bed in the back and just enjoyed our lives. There we met a lot of great people, who shared their homes and lives with us by showing and explaining us their country. We've never met such hospitable people before!
