About Me

CURRENT MISSION
I've just finished my studies at the University of Glasgow, I hope to begin a masters in the field of medical microbiology next year. Besides working, I'm squeezing in a few exciting trips around Europe up until then.

ABOUT ME
My most meaningful travelling experience was during my study abroad year in California. My friends and I spent most weekends on road trips down the West Coast visiting national parks. It's a close call but my favourite was probably Death Valley, located in the Mojave desert it's a striking and beautiful place. At the end of our abroad year, a friend and I travelled across America to the east coast, and here my couchsurfing saga began

PHILOSOPHY
"May your choices reflect your hopes not your fears"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I signed up to couchsurfing a few years ago, however whilst studying I haven't been particularly active in the CS community, I hope to rectify this now I have more free time and a desire to get out and meet lovely people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've couchsurfed in Chicago, Washington and Philadelphia . My latest couch-surfing excursion was to Budapest and it was crazy.

Interests

I enjoy listening to music, mainly indie folk but I'm always open to new recommendations. I also enjoy watching TV series, I tend to dedicate myself to one box set at a time and watch all the episodes back to back in a few days! Currently watching True Detective, I'm sure I'll be done with that by the time I next log on here. Since I graduated I've also had time to read again; I read a mixture of fiction and non-fiction. Stating the obvious here, I also love travelling and meeting new people, particularly people from other countries as I enjoy hearing about what it's like growing up in different countries.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiked up and down the Grand Canyon
The moment when we were about 50m from the top of the canyon at Grand Canyon National Park, and we'd trekked all way down and up again in one day, we were sweaty, achy and completely exhausted, and I realized we'd actually done it!
Sleeping in the sand dunes in Death Valley National Park and waking up to the glorious sunrise

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd liketo learn about how others get on on their travels and advice on making the most of your stay. I can knit and crochet and am willing to teach anyone who is willing to learn ;)

What I Can Share with Hosts

The main reason I'm eager to couchsurf is to meet people that actually live in the country I'm visiting, to experience their culture (and ofcourse to take you to the cheapest bars!). I'm a thoughtful couchsurfer and I think it's important to spend time with your host, without interfering too much in their everyday life. So I'd say I can offer hosts a fun time for them as well!

Countries I’ve Visited
