About Me

CURRENT MISSION

well, currently my mission is to discover and experience new things, places and people.

ABOUT ME

I am keen to try new things, meet new people, have new experiences. And I want to share these things with others where possible. I have learnt that people make all the difference.
I like to keep active. I want to keep learning, and enjoying life.
I can be very determined sometimes, and if I set out to do something, then I normally do.
I think it's important to take any opportunity that comes your way (where you possibly can. and if you can't do it, then don't regret it).

PHILOSOPHY

interesting question. i don't know if i can really answer this.
well, i try my best to follow the saying: 'feel the fear and do it anyway'.
i believe that a positive attitude can make a huge difference to anything.
and i believe it's important to try and do what makes you happy if you possibly can. because then it's easier to spread that feeling to everyone around you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

i have only just signed up to couch surfers, so have not had a chance to participate.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

however i did meet quite a number of couch surfers in thailand, especially in chiang mai. and greatly enjoyed hanging out with them over songkran festival!

Interests

Traveling, of course! Discovering new places, cultures, people and ways of life is fascinating, mind opening, inspiring, amazing fun, challenging, and always worth it.
Other hobbies include: Reading (fiction mostly, though I want to branch out to non-fiction more), Art (painting and drawing), Hiking/ Trekking, Horse Riding, Swimming, Cycling, Skiing (though I've only been a few times), I'd like to say Salsa, but I'm a beginner. And loads more I'm sure, but I can't think what right now.

Music, Movies, and Books

i hate the question 'what is your favourite...', because there are so so many! so i will list a few here (but by no means all of my favourites!)
movies: lord of the rings, harold and maude, shine, being there, remains of the day, moulin rouge, the goonies, stand by me, ghostbusters, fantasia...
music: a huge mixture, not too fussy, including: rock, metal, folk, jazz, drum and bass...
books and authors: harry potter, lord of the rings, the hobbit, remains of the day, a lot of 19th century novels, sherlock holmes, agatha christie, george orwell, virginia woolf, Kazuo Ishiguro, recent books i have read and loved - stone junction, the time traveler's wife, holy cow, travel books...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Having lost my purse and cards in New Zealand, it was amazing to experience the genuine kindness and generosity of the people I met, who gave me lifts, fed me, and helped me out until I sorted the situation. It's always wonderful to experience the selfless kindness of others, and it makes you want to be in a position to offer the same to someone else.

Teach, Learn, Share

oh, i like that this question is here! but i'm gona have to think about what to say first, as i'm not sure what i can teach others yet.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, Canada, Denmark, Egypt, France, Italy, New Zealand, Qatar, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In
