About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Open my life to new experiences, sights, people..

ABOUT ME

Last summer I left my job, my pets, and my apartment in NYC to drive cross country and wander around the west coast.. about 2 months into it I got a job offer in Boston and moved back here in October. I wish I'd had more time to travel but I'm glad to be home again for now! I'm looking forward to getting to know the Boston CS community and of course to meet those of you who are just visiting!

PHILOSOPHY

Social intelligence is about as important to me as intellectualism. Generosity is what I value most.

I like being good at what I do, but I realized early on that I don't want empty achievements.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I lived with and hang out with CSers for a while. I was pretty involved in the NYC underground events/arts community- CS is a somewhat new but familiar part of that culture.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am new to hosting CSers, though I lived with 3 of them! I've met and hung out with many of those my friends/roommates have hosted, and participated in CS events - one of my best friends is an NYC ambassador for CS so I've been well imemersed.

Interests

In general, my friends refer to me as a social organizer. Parties, weekend getaways, dinners, whatever.. I like to bring people together.

I love to cook. Feeding people just makes me happy. Does eating also count as an interest? I'm also on the hunt for the perfect cocktail.. it keeps me reasonably well occupied on the weekend.

I started meditating a few years ago. It's changed my relationship to myself and those around me.

Driving cross country gave me an opportunity to pick up a camera again. I taught darkroom photography during college but I've mostly replaced creating art with befriending artists.. it's a decent trade-off!

One Amazing Thing I've Done

Driving 7,000 miles around the country alone this summer was pretty up there in life experiences.

In general, So many things I've seen are worthy of amazement it's hard to list! I think most things deserve our appreciation, even the day-to-day stuff :-)

Countries I've Visited

Australia, Austria, Costa Rica, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom

Countries I've Lived In

United States
