About Me

Cultivate caring relationships, embrace new experiences, and find balance in my daily life.

I'd describe myself as independent, social and curious with a laid back demeanor. I've been in NYC on and off for most of the last 10 years, with interruptions for travel, school and work. I've usually got a couple side projects in addition to a meaningful career in the nonprofit sector. Half of my personality is uninhibited, distractible and has wanderlust; the other half is Type-A, organized and self sufficient.

Buddhism with a social justice emphasis. My career reflects my personal values and I value relationships with smart, generous and conscientious people.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

I lived with and hang out with CSers for a while. I was pretty involved in the NYC underground events/arts community- CS is a somewhat fringe but familiar part of that culture.

I lived with 3 couch surfers and host once in a while. I've met and hung out with many of those my friends/roommates have hosted, and participated in CS events - one of my dear friends was an NYC ambassador for CS so I've been well imemersed.

In general, my friends refer to me as a social organizer. Parties, weekend getaways, dinners, whatever.. I like to bring people together.

I love to cook. Feeding people just makes me happy. Does eating also count as an interest? I am fascinated by our food system and love learning about how food is grown and prepared.

Dedicated meditator and lazy runner / yogi.

I spend a lot of time on weekends seeing modern / contemporary art around NY. I've mostly replaced creating art with befriending artists but it's a decent trade-off!
