ABOUT ME
Hello :)
My name's Annabelle, I come from the French-speaking part of Belgium and I'm currently traveling around Peru and Bolivia after spending 2 months in the Costa Rican jungle ;)
I'm pretty open-minded and always willing to discover new things. I'm an explorer.
I love meeting people and learning about their culture and past experiences all over the world or just from home.
I'm rather friendly, sociable, honest, enthusiastic and sensitive. I adapt to most situations: I can be quiet sometimes but I always enjoy partying or just having a drink :) I like camping and outdoor activities as much as the city life. I like helping people and feel that I can be useful! I'm usually quite active and sporty but never against a good movie ;) See? Adaptable :)
I'm a good writer, I sing a lot, I like traveling, I enjoy living by the ocean and spending time with friends.

Trust and Surrender
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I discovered this website when I arrived in Australia in April 2014 and I had 2 couchsurfing experiences over the first 3 months I was there. Since then I haven't used the website but I still hosted a couple friends from Australia last summer ;) I wish I could have been helping more but I haven't been much at home since I signed up here. Hopefully I can be a bit more present as a host once I'm back home in August ;)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Over my 15-month stay in Australia, I only had 2 couchsurfing experiences as I made a lot of local friends and were usually hosted by them (so no need of the couchsurfing website).
My first official couchsurfing experience was in Melbourne and only for one night. But we had a good chat, tea and cake that I had brought :) As for my second experience, it was in Darwin. I was super welcomed to stay as long as I needed at Colin's house, which he was sharing with 2 other aussie guys. As we got along quite well and it took me some time to find a job, I ended up staying with them for 4 weeks :)
Other than that, I hosted an American friend of mine in Belgium and made him discover some local food and belgian cities. Same with Aussie friends a month after I had got back home from their own country.
Interests
I love traveling; discovering the outside world, its people, landscapes and cultures, but also going deeper in the knowledge of myself. Change and exploration keep me alive.
Music is another part of my life :) Listening to it but mainly singing. I've also started learning how to play the guitar but I haven't got very far yet.
I also enjoy photography, writing and reading.
I'm not the best cook ever but I love eating and trying new food.
I'm usually quite sporty: I often go jogging or walking and also do sports like aerobics, swimming, canoeing, volleyball, skiing, etc.
I enjoy being surrounded by nature, I find it very nourrishing and I can't stay too long without going for a walk or hike to relax and recenter myself. I can also sit by the ocean for hours, it has quite the same effect on me :)
This past year I've also discovered the benefits of yoga, meditation and free dancing which I practice when I can, and I've been taking part in different self-developping workshops and retreats.
