I love being in new situations and places I don't know. I'm organised, proactive and approachable. I love to learn, and I love sherbet fountains.

I want to live freely, be happy and help others do the same as much as possible.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have had a wonderful couchsurfing experience with some lovely people in Hamburg - they took me around their area of the city and showed me great things. I have also spent a couple of days couchsurfing near Venice with a great guy, and I couchsurfed in Rome for five days with a friend. I had three lovely girls stay at my family home in Devon for a night as they hiked alone the coastline and I loved getting the chance to show them around my local village, and my whole family got involved. Everyone I have met through this has been generous, open minded and welcoming, and it's been a great way to learn about places from the perspective of locals as well as returning the favour.
Interests
I love music and film and have very eclectic tastes. One of my passions is skiing - I did a season in Meribel, France, which was one of the most exciting and energetic experiences of my life. My little brother is one of the best and most talented people I know - he's a musician and watching him perform makes me so proud; I have been known to shed a tear! Reading is something I never stop doing (which is useful, seeing as I have to read so much for my degree!). I also love the theatre, but haven't performed in a long while. I like yoga and reading.

Music, Movies, and Books
All too many, but I'll do my best at naming some.
Movies: Withnail and I, Into the Wild, Labyrinth, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Pulp Fiction, The Blues Brothers, Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, The Breakfast Club, High Society, Chocolat, The Life of Brian, Lucky Number Slevin and The Princess Bride.
I'm not gonna lie, I am in love with David Bowie. I think his music and films are beautiful. Particularly the Diamond Dogs album. Other than him, lots of music. Meatloaf, Nick Drake, The King Blues, Mando Diao, Johnny Cash, The Jam, Codeine Velvet Club, The Clash, Muse, The Cat Empire, The Kings of Leon, The John Butler Trio. I love festivals and discovering new music.
Oscar Wilde is my hero. I wish I could one day write half as articulately and beautifully as him. Algernon Charles Swinburne, Edgar Allan Poe, Henry James, Vernon Lee, Byron, William Blake, Coleridge, Arthur Hugh Clough, Tom Stoppard, Jorge Luis Borges, Jack London, Jack Kerouac, Forster's 'A Room with a View.' Lots more.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Singing with a choir in Notre Dame,
Backpacking in Europe, South America, Asia (Machu Picchu, Salt Flats, Cusco, Sandboarding in the desert around an oasis town, Huacachina, in Peru, so many beautiful places in Europe - hitchhiking along the South of France, blagging my way into an expensive club in Monte Carlo for free, sleeping under the stars in Montpellier after an evening of free paella, a market and a blues brothers tribute band, the wonderful vistas in the more Eastern countries in Europe, Montenegro, Macedonia, Romania, Bulgaria, Yunnan province in China, Myanmar, SE Asia). Ok I've failed at this section for "one thing" haha
Teach, Learn, Share
I am not sure that I can teach any real practical skills (other than select methods of impressive origami and a few card tricks), but I would love to share my experiences with new people and I hope that they will share theirs with me. If anyone wants to listen to me rattle on about Victorian literature I'd be more than happy to indulge them ;)
