I think couch surfing is the best way to really get to know the energy and attractions of a new place. No one knows a town better than the locals, and through couch surfing I've had countless great experiences that I probably wouldn't have found through reading a Lonely Planet book. I'm so grateful for the opportunities and memories that couch surfing has given me, and cant wait to be able to host others once I find myself a larger apartment! :)
