ABOUT ME

My life is changing a bit at the moment. For the past two years I have been in the States, working at a winery in Maryland, and then I didn't do that I was fly-fishing in Lander, Wyoming. Why did I ever leave that? I sometimes ask myself that too. But, at the moment life in Uppsala is proving to be pretty fun. Just starting school again, meeting new people, feeling some steady ground under my feet.

PHILOSOPHY

If it's not fun, don't do it. - why waste your precious time on junk that won't do you any good?

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have only been surfing so far, but I'm pretty stoked to do some hosting and hopefully attend some events.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Three years ago two friends and I did a train ride though Europe. This was my introduction to CS. We had great stays with awesome people in Sweden, Italy, and France (most nights were spent on trains). My favorite stay was probably in the Italian town Livorno. We were so greatly taken care of, and we were shown the local hot-spots like the bar that once was an old war-fort, great gelato-shops, and not to forget the place that made the biggest, tastiest sandwich on the planet!
Most recent experience was during a month long trip SoCal - equally awesome!

Interests

Music, movies, good books (though I admit to be the slowest reader) traveling, hiking, fishing, eating, cooking (I have a few steps to go, but enjoy it nevertheless...) relaxing - yep, I think that deserves a spot on the interest list. Brewing beer is a growing one, too.

Music, Movies, and Books

Musical favorites include: Beach House, Vampire Weekend, The National, The Walkmen, Robyn, The Tallest Man on Earth, Taken by Trees, jj.. the list is never ending and always growing.
Movies: Mary and Max, Megamind, Oh Brother Where Art Thou, The Big Lebowski (really all Coen-brothers' movies). I am quite the sucker for good series too (some less good ones too..) Mad Men, House, Breaking Bad etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last amazing moment I had when I hiked up a mountain with two of my favorite people. At the top (this was in Chile) we could see all the way to Argentina. There was snow on the very top, so we took a break slightly lower (wine and cheese & crackers - this was a day trip) and during this break there were at least 5 condors, and one eagle, circling all around us. It might sound a little creepy the way I just described it, but they are some massive birds!! It really puts a person in it's right spot experiencing such magnificence.

Teach, Learn, Share

My strong suit is really with fishing, and I have some experience with hiking as well. I love learning, what I'm most keen about at the moment is probably anything to do with growing - my plan is to have a big garden at some point. I have a fairly wide interest range though, so bring it on!
