About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To slowly whittle down my list of 'unexplored countries'

ABOUT ME

I always planned go on a one year travel advenutre after finishing university to explore the world. Well, that one year turned into three and I'm still at it! Recently I came back to the states and attempted to settle down, stay in one place and land a 'career' job. But after paying rent for a few months I found myself eyeing my backpack and sure enough, I'm back on the road again! This time I'm exploring my own country hoping to discover new places and meet interesting people! After hitching around the states for a few months, I landed a job in Vail for the winter season where I'm loving the mountain life! Living in a crowded house with awesome roomies, learning to snowboard, and meeting people from all over! Life couldn't be better!

PHILOSOPHY

Live your dream, don't dream your life!
I never want to catch myself saying 'I wish I would have done this' or '...could have done that'. Instead I'm going to make it happen and enjoy the experience to the fullest! I believe anyone can do whatever they desire, they've just got to start taking the steps in that directions.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment I'm mainly surfing. I've been lucky enough to be passing through towns putting on happy hours, chatting with the local CSers over cheap beers. I had a great time at my first couch crash in Virginia and met some incredible people surfing! Every chance I get I spread the word about Couch Surfing, encouraging people to sign up and join in the fun!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I first heard about CS while traveling abroad a few years ago, so I opened an account but never really used it. Since being back in the states and hitch hiking across the country with another CSer, I've discovered the true magic of this site and the awesomeness of the CS community! I've met so many wonderful, like minded people and can't imagine traveling without going to random couch crashes, weekly happy hours and get togethers. I'm looking forward to hosting people whenever I decide to stay put long enough, but at the moment I'm truly enjoying and tremedously grateful for all the amazing people who I've met!

Interests

I like anything outdoors related! Guess that makes sense since I grew up in the mountains! If I had to name a few of my favorite activies it would most definitely be Surfing, Ultimate Frisbee, Hiking, Backpacking, Traveling, Laughing, Hitch Hiking and Dumpster Diving! Also really getting into Slacklining and Snowboarding!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love listening to music and always enjoying discovering new artists. Here's a few of my favorites: The Local Natives, Fleet Foxes, The Postal Service, Xavier Rudd, Cat Stevens, Lissie, Bon Iver, Sufjan Stevens, Radiohead, Sigur Ros, Iron and Wine, The Beautiful Girls, Dispatch, Flight of the Conchords, Fat Freddy's Drop...

Movies: Into the Wild, Harold and Maude, The Gods Must Be Crazy I and II, Donnie Darko, Young Einstein, Baraka, Motorcycle Diaries...

Having grown up without any cable television, I've spent a lot of my days reading. Currently my favorite book of all time would have to be Shantaram! Incredible! Fantastic!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Stood on the edge of a volcano in the south pacific and watched it erupt! Every instinct in my body was telling me to run for my life, but at the same time I was mesmerized by the sights and couldn't tear my eyes away! My only response was uncontrollable giggles of terror!
