CURRENT MISSION
to travel the world and see its wonders, from the dardanelles to the mountains of peru
ABOUT ME
I'm a student at Arizona State University, and hopefully I will be graduating in May 2012. My major is currently anthropology, with minors in math, dance, and history, possibly. We'll see how it all works out. I've lived in Arizona most of my life, but did spend some time living in North Carolina when i was younger. My first plane ride was when i was less than a year old, and I've been travelling ever since.
PHILOSOPHY
We cannot ponder all paths but must decode only those necessary to get out. We must be quick and anything but exhaustive. Yet...going too fast also incurs certain risks: 'Quod evenit in labyrintho properantibus: ipsa illos velocitas inplicat' (This is what happens when you hurry through a maze: the faster you go, the worse you are entangled)-House of Leaves
Philosophy is written in this grand book-I mean the universe-which stands continually open to our gaze, but it cannot be understood unless one first learns to comprehend the language and interpret the characters in which it is written. It is written in the language of mathematics, and its characters are triangles, circles and other geometrical figures, without which it is humanly impossible to understand a single word of it; without these one is wandering about in a dark labyrinth. -Galileo
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Last summer I couchsurfed in Stockholm, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, and Istanbul. In Stockholm my favorite thing was driving around with out host at like 10 at night, with sun still out a bit. We got to see parts of the city we wouldn't have even thought to visit. In Copenhagen, I really liked going to the zoo, and seeing the names of the animals in Danish. In Amsterdam, our hosts made us feel so welcome the first night...by getting us rather drunk. And in Istanbul, I enjoyed having Turkish night with out hosts, which meant smoking Nargile (hookah), eating turkish foods, and drinking Raki.
