PHILOSOPHY

Quotation from "Steppenwolf" by Hermann Hesse: Die meisten Menschen wollen nicht eher schwimmen als bis sie es können.
Which means to me: everything new is worth trying, even when I'm afraid of unknown.

In the same context, I also use to remind one of Noir Desir's songs, especially the part: "Je n'ai pas peur de la route (...) Le vent nous portera."

And, due to the fact that I love riding bicycle, I use to repeat: "Life is like riding a bicycle - to keep your balance you must keep moving."

Books: experiments of OuLiPo group, novels by Hermann Hesse and classic 19th century's novels (Stendhal, Flaubert)
Music: Massive Attack at the first place, then: french music (singers-songwriters), some electronic and ambient music eg. Aphex Twin. And some rock stuff as well, eg. french group Noir Desir.
Movies: "Stalker" by Russian director A. Tarkovsky and "Chungking Express" by Wong Kar Wai.

I speak Polish - one of the most difficult languages ;)

Among more practical skills: I work in Warsaw in some charming place as barista, so I know how to prepare real good, italian-style coffee with some latte-art "paintings" on it :)
