ABOUT ME

I'm from the Midwest, where I grew up and went to college. I also lived in Washington DC for two years doing neuroscience research. I've traveled in Central America and Sweden, as well as France, Iceland, China and a couple of other places. Soon I'll add Spain to that list, right after I spend Midsommar with family in Sweden!

PHILOSOPHY

I realized years ago that almost all of the activities I do, I do because I like the people involved. Having good relationships with others is ultimately what matters in life.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just joined Couch Surfing! I heard about it when I lived in Washington DC, but I did not join because I had roommates and wanted to respect their space. I am going to travel over the summer, so I am excited to use this site to meet some awesome people. When I start school in the Fall I'll update my location and host surfers myself.

I love music! I like live music and music I can dance to (including social dances like swing, polka, and salsa, as well as going to clubs or jumping around at rock concerts).

Teaching in Harbin, China and in Antigua, Guatemala were both amazing experiences because I was able to live in one place for awhile and have real exchanges with my students there. Seeing monkeys in the wild and watching my nephew be born were also pretty cool.
