Hi there!

My name is Anne, I am a 21-year-old student of media sciences at the University of Paderborn, Germany. I have always been described as proactive, motivated and adventerous by friends and family, and therefore I have applied for a semester abroad (Norway) which will start in 2019!

Since I am open-minded and eager to see the world, I have travelled occasionally in the past. Back in school, I have taken part in several student exchanges and during the holidays, I loved travelling either alone, with friends or with family.
After finishing school, I spent a gap year in Canada, taking care of young children as an Au Pair.

I am looking forward to spending a semester in Norway, to meeting new people, to learning a new language and to making lots and lots of memories!

I enjoy playing the flute in our local Spielmannszug (tambour corps). I play both the concert flute in C and the Sandners Flute in C flat. For a short period of time, I have also tried out the Marimbaphon, but luckily, we found someone who is more talented than me so I gladly went back to playing the flute ;D
In my "free" time, I also work in customer support for a Start-Up that has specialised in e-commerce.

I have heard great stories about Couchsurfing from friends and my cousin, so I decided to give it a shot :) This is my first time using Couchsurfing!
Personally, I think that it's a great way to get to know a country AND its people.

Although it sounds weird, I don't actually have big preferences. I enjoy reading a thriller as much as I like reading historical novels and love stories.

I've seen Orcas! And LOTS of humpbacks and a hummingbird!
When I lived in Canada, I had the chance to visit Greenpeace founder's Paul Spong's OrcaLab on Hanson Island. On our way there (it's on a fairly remote island), there where Orcas swimming next to our boat, and they even had a baby with them. In the following days, we watched lots of humpbacks, and one morning I woke up and there was a sweet little hummingbird hovering just outside the window. Until that moment, I didn't even know that hummingbirds do live in Canada!

(I've noticed that some hosts here think about visiting there guests in their homecountries. Since I live in a flat-share without any extra rooms at the moment, it would be a little problematic to welcome you right now. I'm sorry..)
