关于我
Hi everyone! I’m Anne. I’m currently travelling around Europe — next stops include Lisbon, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Rome, Athens, Istanbul, and Dubai.
I used to work as a programmer, so if you’re into tech or want to chat about anything related to programming, I’m always happy to share. I’m also a certified yoga teacher and volunteered teaching yoga in a temple in Pokhara for a month — if you enjoy yoga too, I’d love to offer a free class.
And… I travel with a mini karaoke set (yes, really!). I barely use it, but if you’re into karaoke, we can definitely sing together :)
Looking forward to meeting new people and sharing good vibes!

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing
Last September, I was laid off from my previous job. Instead of applying for new roles immediately, I opened my own company in Singapore and started freelancing. Since then, my lifestyle has changed a lot — I’ve been traveling full-time for almost a year.
I’m not sure why Couchsurfing shows I’ve been a member since 2022, because 2025 is actually the first time I’m really using the platform.
My journey started last Christmas with short trips around Asia — Singapore (my base), China (Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Zhengzhou—my hometown), and Thailand (Bangkok).
From June this year, I became a full-time nomad:
• Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam (1 week)
• Japan (3 weeks)
• Nepal (2 months) — where I volunteered teaching yoga in Pokhara for a month
• Returned to Singapore for my Europe visa
• United Kingdom (London for around 2 weeks)
• Spain — and I’m currently in Seville as I write this.
One of my best experiences so far was in Barcelona. I stayed for almost 2 weeks in the home of a local friend I met in Nepal during my yoga classes. She invited me to stay when I said I might visit Europe — and the experience was incredible.
Living with a local family was completely different from staying in hostels or hotels. I cooked Chinese food for them, introduced some of my Chinese friends, attended their family gatherings — it felt like a small cultural exchange, and for a moment I felt like I was living in Barcelona, not just visiting.
After Spain, I’ll keep traveling to more countries. I want to experience each city in a more authentic, local way, which is why I’ve decided to start using Couchsurfing. I want to feel like living in the city instead of just visiting.

音乐、电影和书籍
Music:
Lately I’ve been really enjoying downtempo music, but my taste is very broad — I listen to all kinds of genres depending on the mood.
Movies:
Some of my all-time favorites are The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (I’ve watched it several times), Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain , and The Legend of 1900.
In my early 20s, I watched 1–2 good movies every week, so it’s difficult to list all my favorites. Movies really expanded the way I feel and think about life.
TV Series:
I really like Pantheon — it mixes so many interesting concepts.
Recently I’ve been watching The Orville, imagining what it would be like if we, or our children, become the first generation to live in space.
Books:
Non-fiction:
Right now I’m slowly reading Thinking, Fast and Slow — I’m traveling with the physical book, so progress is slow.
I also really enjoyed The Roots of Romanticism. It’s not a love story; it felt more like being in a room listening to brilliant people debate passionately. I’ve forgotten many details, but the feeling stayed with me.
Fiction:
The Three-Body Problem — impossible to resist.
Stories of Your Life (adapted into the film Arrival) — both the book and movie are great.
Flowers for Algernon — I cried reading it; unlike Three-Body, this one is deeply emotional.
Animal Farm — highly recommended.
我做过的一件不可思议的事情
I completed a 10-day Vipassana retreat in Bali, Indonesia — no talking, no internet. Surprisingly, living like a monk for a while was really enjoyable.
I raised $1,000 USD donation in just two weeks for a children’s home in Pokhara, and spent all of it on clothes, food, and essential supplies for the kids.
I volunteered teaching yoga every morning in a temple in Pokhara and lived in the monastery during that time.
My first time traveling abroad was also my first time living abroad — I moved from Beijing, China to Singapore for a new job.
I built a bilingual (Chinese and Endeavor ) tech community in Beijing when I was working there. VueBeijing. I was a front end developer and ended up with meeting Evan You in person (the creator of vuejs) in real life.
I donated my hair twice to kids with cancer in Malaysia, 2022 and 2024, luckily my hair grows fast and thick.
