My best friends would tell you that I am a great listener and I know how to laugh at jokes, puns, and amusing stories. I enjoy getting to know people though I'm a bit shy. I'm organized but like to be spontaneous.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've found that I meet great people when I travel and find out about the places I'm visiting from a very different perspective from my hosts.

Interests

I love to dance (especially contra dancing), sing loudly in the shower but quietly when in a group, and cooking brings me joy when I can feed lots of people. It's important to me to get out into the forests for hikes, or at the least a long walk with friends and my dog. Cross-country skiing is a blast especially in good weather. I've just begun to explore snow-shoeing. A good movie is good, but live theater is better.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hopping back and forth across the equator in East Africa was a trip! The impressive view from the top of the Sawtooth Mountains in Idaho left me breathless (plus it was a scary climb so that might have accounted for some of the lack of oxygen in my brain at any rate!)
