ABOUT US (Anne and Don)
Anne: Very open, chatty, caring, and generous person, everybody's mom.
I love all creatures, with the exception of spiders,. We have a shy cat named Chubby and a spoiled dog named Izzo, on site.
This is a recently "blended family", and the pets interaction can be entertaining. I love to travel, though that's been on the back burner for the last year, since we got a new house.
My passion and money pit is now remodeling and refining our lovely cottage on Lake Erie, just minutes from downtown and close to the Waterloo Arts district..
Don Stuart: He is a graphic designer with over 30 years of experience, a quiet man who favors strong cocktails, zen meditation, blues harmonica playing, and motorcycle riding fool (rides in all seasons, including winter!) don works from an at home studio while I am still running a clinic 6 days a week.
We have turned our backyard into a Japanese garden recently and Don enjoys cultivating bonsai plants while I focus on flowers.
With Lake Erie as the back drop, our back deck is the best thing around. Don will take great pride in preparing a cocktail for you as the sun sets over the water. We have a canoe you can use as well.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My son has done couch surfing (as both surfer and host), for years and met wonderful people from all over the world. He said I would certainly enjoy the company of couch surfers, who bring with them fresh perspective and energy from all over the globe. This has most certainly been the case.
Most that have visited have been young enough to be my children. I am a mom type that will do my best to accommodate you and make you feel at home, and get you to the fun events and cool venues .
Now that we own our own home, without any annoying landlords, we are able to open up our house to travelers. Our neighborhood is urban, but feels like a beach resort. We are directly on Lake Erie, and hear the waves all night long.

Interests

All of the arts, music, film, visual arts, architecture, healthy cooking, whiskey and beer, motorcycles, house pets, travel, nature, distinctive and inspiring landscapes, indigenous cultures, repurposed anything.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have ridden a motorcycle around British Columbia, Canada, with a friend around the provincial parks, the mountains were amazing.
