About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To get myself out of my comfort zone, broaden my mind and meet as many new people as I possibly can!

ABOUT ME

I grew up in Merseyside, but currently live in Leeds where I am studying for a PhD in numerical weather modelling (in a nutshell: clouds)

I like to think I'm pretty laid back (don't we all!) and am keen to meet open minded, positive people to have fun with. My main hobbies are music (in most forms - I play guitar and bass, and love live music events), outdoor adventuring and really good comedy. I've also recently taken up aerial silks, which is great fun!

PHILOSOPHY

There is nearly always a positive to be found, and if you can't see it, you're probably not looking hard enough.

"Of all the paths you take in life, make sure a few of them are dirt" - John Muir

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't been particularly active in a while, and unfortunately am not currently in a position to be able to host; however, Couchsurfing people tend to be fun-loving, non-judgemental people so it'd be nice to meet more of them. I'm also happy to show people round Leeds if they are visiting.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Wayne's World, anything by the Coen Brothers, also anything by Wes Anderson.
Music: Mainly rock, grunge and folk. Some of my favourite artists are Frank Turner, the Smashing Pumpkins, Weezer, Death Cab for Cutie and Foo Fighters.
Books: YA fiction, graphic novels, popular science, dystopian fiction; specifically, Flowers for Algernon, HP, Y: The Last Man and I Capture the Castle are all brilliant.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbed to the top of Yosemite Falls

Swam in a lake under a full moon in the middle of the Cairngorms

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to play the guitar, how to make the most delicious salad in the world (i know, salad, bear with me here), and most things weather related.

I would like to learn new ways of thinking about things - I am an open minded person and like to have my views and opinions challenged, especially over a pint or two.

Countries I’ve Visited

France, Germany, Morocco, Norway, United States
