CURRENT MISSION

Obtain my PhD by researching the effects of chaplaincy. At the moment I'm writing my PhD proposal. As a preperation I'm visiting the United States for four months (february-june) with a grant from my university to learn how chaplaincy research is conducted in the United States

ABOUT ME

I've graduated last year as a humanist chaplain at the University of Humanistic Studies. For the one's who think: sorry, what is chaplaincy?, I'll try to explain. A chaplain works at a hospital, in the military, in prison or in other places and counsel people on life questions. It is a job closely connected to spirituality, searching for example for answers to 'What do I think is the meaning of life?', 'What is my ultimate concern in my life?' etc. I am specialized in working with prisoners. It is a wonderful job!
Next to my work I dance the argentine tango a lot and sing in a classical choir. I like racebiking, walking in the mountains, travelling. And every summer I organise with a couple of friends a hiking summercamp in a Norwegian national park (www.noordelichtkampen.nl).
The profilepicture is from my bicycle trip to Iran: I cycled from Utrecht, the Netherlands, to Teheran, Iran, in 9 months. It was an amazing experience. So my travelrecommendation would be: follow the Silk Road!

I am interested in human beings (see my study) and religious renewal. I am also dancing the tango, singing in a choir, playing the piano and I love to meet with my friends.
