ABOUT ME

I am currently traveling in Europe retracing my family roots. I am a storyteller and artist, and travel to experience the stories I have heard so often.

I practice the 5Rhythms, a meditation practice through dance. I LOVE to dance, and feel the most happy and alive when moving to music.

I also am passionate about food, cooking, and eating. I love to eat and to cook. Cooking is an art form to me, a constant play of texture and color, flavor and problem solving. I will gladly cook for you! I also love what food does to people--it brings us together, around a common place, to share in something together. Food, and the table, is instant community.

I have worked as a receptionist for a chiropractor and acupuncture clinic, a cook, prep cook, theatre teacher, theatre director, storyteller, professional graphic designer, book illustrator, house cleaner, nanny, animal caretaker, and a farm hand.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that it's all about connection: with ourselves, others, the Earth, the Divine. I believe that we're in a place of magnanimous global change, which (although scary at times) is the artist's most alluring medium. I believe that when following your passion with gentleness and humility, doors will open. Then it is time to say Yes.

I am currently traveling, and loving the magic of the unknown. When I get home I would be glad to meet up for a coffee or a tour of my sweet city.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I love to surf! I am always amazed by the people I meet and the stories shared! I am looking forward to hosting when back in the States.

I have climbed Mt. St. Helens twice--the first time when I was 13 years old.
I have written, directed, produced, and performed my own one-woman theater/stroytelling show.

I can teach: cooking, book-making, somatics, writing, writing one's own story, theatre.

I can share: info about healing foods, somatics knowledge and exercises, my story, an extensive English vocabulary, my cooking and baking skills.

I want to learn: ayurvedic medicine, how to play the banjo, how to play the guitar, plants and animals of a region, the German language, history through art, painting with oils, food systems of different countries.
