To travel the west coast
I've been called a chameleon. I'm comfortable with all kinds of people, whether they are cheerful cheerleaders, cynical professors or mental cases and I respect everybody for who they are. I can be a very serious student of literature and law, but also a superficial partygirl. I don't think there's a definite line between high- and low-culture. I have 5-year-plans, but will shove them aside when I feel the need to be impulsive. Interested in everything the world has to offer, from high-brow art to grains of sand. I love skipping the gym.
Try to accept and appreciate every person for who he/she is. Try to share as much as possible, it makes life so much more pleasant!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've been in love with Amsterdam for all my short life and hope to be able to infatuate you too. As I live on the most beautiful canal of this city, I think it won't be a problem for me to explain that love once you see the sight. When I travel to other cities, I would like to share your enthusiasm for that particular place. As a guest, I think it is very important to show respect for your host in keeping everything clean and adapting to his/her schedule.
I'm quite new to the project, but have been hosting a few people in Amsterdam and surfing in New York and around Australia - so far it's an amazing experience and has changed my traveling ways forever.
Literature, classical music, jazz, modern arts, yoga, films, different cultures, playing the violin and piano and singing in choirs.
Music, Movies, and Books
Music is the one thing I can't do without: mostly classical and early-music: de Machaut, Bach, Brahms and my personal heroin Wendy Carlos. Big fan of jazz and minimal dance music too. But really, I love all kinds of music.
Books: Dutch literature: Reve, Hermans, Vestdijk and English: Bronte Sisters, Faulkner, Jonathan Safran Foer, JD Salinger, Roth and heaps more.
Movies: David Lynch, Jane Campion, Coen Brothers, Tarantino, lots of European filmmakers. My ultimate feelgood movie is Juno.
Series: The Wire, MadMen, the Office
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
seeing Cecilia Bartoli perform live in the Amsterdam concert building
and seeing Sigur Ros perform live at Lowlands festival.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can tell you a lot about Amsterdam and offer you a place to stay in one of the most beautiful houses in the city (if you can handle the lack of hygiene though).
