About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I want to be as aware as possible and to laugh as often as I can and to always be free. Joy can be encapsulated in sitting in a meadow and blowing bubbles and watching them float through the air, up and away to freedom, just carried on the wind.
ABOUT ME
Well I like the sun. People think I am mad because I live in Scotland and the sunlight is measured out in hours. But the sky is Scotland is unlike anywhere else, it is different every day. And when it is sunny here, this place takes your breath away with its beauty. I like beautiful things, well things I think are beautiful, like a leaf, rock, shell, a piece of bark. I collect these and have them scattered on tables in my flat. I am a bit OCD, well my partner says I am anyway. I like to do things in a specific way, but at the same time I believe in chance, adventure, and spontaneity. I'm not very good at describing myself. I like to dance, but am not very good at it. I really really enjoy medicine, all of it - learning and exploring that knowledge and also interacting with people. I have the best partner in the world, Callum. He is what kept me in Scotland when I thought I had to go back to the US to study medicine. Because of him, I figured out a way to stay. This was made slightly easier because I am a dual citizen -British and American. I also have a very cute dog, Hamish. I am really bad at spelling.
PHILOSOPHY
To laugh as often as possible. To not worry so much about all the big things, but to focus on the small moments of joy that we encounter every day. To look up at the sky and to wonder. To realise that every day is beautiful
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Interests
Yoga, walking, camping, traveling (sort of obvious), reading, cooking and then feeding people.
I like people. Seriously I do. I like talking to people. I want to find out more about what makes us all tick, about cultures, and beliefs. I want to hear peoples' stories and intwine it into my own life story, cause that is what life is about.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Swimming across a lake in Canada, naked except for water shoes. Then climbing up a rock face on the distant shore and then jumping, plummeting down shouting CALABUNGA at the top of my lungs.
Teach, Learn, Share
Mustard gas is a horrific chemical that was used in WWI as an effective biological weapon. BUT the same substance was also used as one of the first chemotherapy drugs to treat blood born cancers. We know about its devastating effects during war, but hardly ever hear about how it helped bridge a gap in cancer therapy during the early years of chemotherapy. To me this shows that it is always dependent on who - not what - and how we use things that we create.
