About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Self-Cleansing, Personal Growth, Exploration, and getting back to my gypsy roots! ...All while playing music!
ABOUT ME
I work as a music therapist when I am not traveling...I love anything and everything about music - writing, playing, singing, listening etc...I am a very open-minded individual, accepting of people from all walks of life...I welcome any opportunity for personal growth or helping others...I am just as happy going to the pub with friends as I am curling up with a good book or movie - it's all about personal balance! I'm an earthy, artsy, bohemian type, starving for culture and new experience.
PHILOSOPHY
*Always be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle* -Plato
*You gotta do your best to decorate this dying day* -Shannon Hoon
*Forget not that the Earth delights to feel your bare feet, and the wind longs to play with your hair* -Khalil Gibran
*One looks at the world, bangs his head against it, and is given two choices: to accept it as it is, or to shake it to life with imagination* -John Gardner
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm brand new to couch surfing, and am excited to meet new people in new places during my current travels! Because I basically quit life to travel for a while, I unfortunately cannot host at the present time -- but would love to return the favor and host in the future once I get resituated somewhere :)
Interests
*MUSIC* -Going to see some live music is one of my favorite things to do...would LOVE for you to introduce me to some new music, I'm always listening for new "ear candy" :)

Music, Movies, and Books
I always find this question so difficult to answer because I am so eclectic with what I enjoy :) ...So please don't think that I am limited by what I list here!
Movies: Indie films with good soundtracks always catch my attention (i.e. Darjeeling Limited, Juno, The Music Never Stopped, etc.)
Music: While I love and appreciate something from every genre, I generally gravitate toward classic rock, 90s rock, reggae, folk, bluegrass, and coffeehouse. Blind Melon, Avett Brothers, Mumford & Sons, Michael Franti, My Morning Jacket, Beatles, Stones, THE Bobs (Marley & Dylan, that is)...just a few of my favorites, but I'll give just about anything a try!
Books: I read a lot of nonfiction like memoirs or true crime. And Harry Potter :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Working with my patients and helping them discover the healing powers of music has always been an amazing thing to experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have a degree in music and am always willing to talk about music or give a quick music lesson! :) While I usually have my guitar with me, I also sing, play violin, piano, and hand percussion, among other instruments. I'm currently learning the harmonica...gradually ;)
I also love sharing about music therapy and what I do for a living. Not many people have heard of music therapy, so I enjoy talking with others about what I do, and the different types of people I have worked with.
