About Me
ABOUT ME
Retired pole vaulter. Teacher on hiatus, vintage seller, and traveler. Mom of 3 rad little dare-devils. Usually traveling together as a family with husband, kids, sometimes dog, and me! :)
I'm very active, and I love being outdoors - Hiking, swimming, climbing, surfing, cycling, exploring, you get the idea...
That being said, I'm also a pretty big geek. Sci-fi is my jam for TV and movies, and I love to read. I've been reading a lot of historical fiction and books on neurology and psychology lately.
PHILOSOPHY
My personal philosophy is to be kind. Seriously, that's the most important thing in life. Kindness and acts of positivity are contagious.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I first used couchsurfer while traveling in Europe in 2014 and loved the experience. I was able to see things I may have overlooked on my own and had a wonderful time hearing about other people's travels.
Since then I have hosted in my home and used CS domestically and abroad. I have also welcomed CS people to join us for activities like wakeboarding and tubing, mtb, and just generally sharing our beautiful spaces.
Interests
Hiking, swimming, mtb, basically anything active, outside, adventurous, or involving travel.
Music, Movies, and Books
All music with a special taste for classic rock and classical. Wide range of movie and TV likes, especially action and sci-fi fantasy geek stuff. I tend to enjoy the historical fiction genre most when reading, but I'll pretty much read anything you put in front of me.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The Husb (Kasey) and I scootered all the way around Maui and explored the jungles there. We camped out on beaches, got lost, surfed, tumbled down mountains, found hidden waterfalls, and put 700 miles on our scooters in 2 weeks.
Summer 2014 my husband and I traveled through Europe to compete in various pole vault competitions for a little over three months. The experience gave me the opportunity to visit 11 different countries, 6 coastlines, climb 2 mountains, compete in around 30 meets and events, and experience things I never thought I would be able to.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to talk about anything I feel can be analyzed. It can be deep like literature, religion, politics, world views, or a little more trivial like tv and movies.
My husband and I also tend to be very active so if you want someone to adventure with, we are down!
I also dig cooking and am ready and willing to do so upon request.
