About Me
Hi ✌🏼
I’m Annika, 21 years old and I live in Frankfurt, Germany!
From June 2016 until July 2017 I lived in the United States working as a nanny for an American host family. I took care of two wonderful kids for 12 months and had a great time experiencing the American culture. My last month in the states I spent traveling with a friend from Germany. We went down the West Coast from Seattle to San Diego, then to Arizona to see the National Parks and last but not least Texas and New Orleans. And the best part of these 4 weeks were all the people we met through couchsurfing or staying in hostels. Without them we would’ve never stayed on a boat in Seattle, met the two cutest dogs in L.A., gone hiking in Yosemite in the middle of the night or seen Horseshoe Bend, one of the most amazing things I have ever seen!
So I’ve really had a great experience with couchsurfing so far and I’m hoping that it will stay like this and I’ll have so many more stories to tell!
After I came back to Germany after my gap year (and especially the last month) I didn’t really know what to do with my life. I had seen so many new places each day that it was pretty difficult to be back in this small town in Germany my parents live in. So I started wondering what I could do to be traveling again so I became a flight attendant. I started training in December 2017 and have been flying for 7 months now.
In November and December me and my friend Johanna (a colleague) are off from work for 6 weeks and since we both love traveling we want to explore Singapur, Bali and Sri Lanka in that time! I told her about my great experiences with couchsurfing and since she’s never done it before I hope that we’ll be lucky again and meet lots of fun people!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love getting to know new people and staying with someone who actually lives in the area you visit is probably way more fun than staying in a hotel. They can also give you some insider tips and you get the chance to really get to know the area!
I'm also looking forward to hosting other couchsurfers as soon as I have my own place!
