ABOUT ME

I am Anneke. I love moving to new places and try to immerse into the local culture and life. it`s amazing how beautiful it is to find connection with people everywhere.
i love to cook, dance, travel, go to concerts, adventure and nature. i try to think about the environment while traveling. i am a passionate midwife, everytime a big honor to be part of a birth and welcome a new child into this world.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

i love to meet people, have local people show me the way they love their city (or village) and be part of daily life in the places where i end up. always ready to help out or cook you a nice international dish...
i just moved into my own place, and made sure there are couches and matressess so i can finally host. looking forward to my first surfer..

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

i was hosted a couple of times in uganda and Kenya, where i met very nice people. I host when i am in Belgium (about 3 month's a year) and i love it! I also like to just go for a drink. i enjoy meeting people, trough couchsurfing, but also on the train, during a walk, in the bakery, traveling.

human rights and women's rights, midwifery and women`s health, cooking, dancing, nature, environment, art in all forms. but most of all, people. i love getting to know a new person, discover their dreams, their way of thinking...

i love novels, and movies, but i am not up to date, spend to much time in the bush.
for dancing i certainly fall for African beats. if it comes to concerts, i enjoy the summer festivals in Europe, street musicians (love paris for that), etc...

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

a home delivery in a hut in northern darfur. we were called to go and pick up a young mother who had trouble delivering, but we ended up staying with her in her home. she was surrounded by the other women of her family, who chanted prayers. she kneeled with the support of her mother in law and put a beautiful son on earth. i was so grateful to be welcome at such an important moment in her life.

Also the many times i found a friend, somewhere i least expected it
