About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To come up with a mission statement which will make everyone like me.

ABOUT ME

My whole life has really just been a preamble to the rest of my life. That's the part which comes next. I don't know where the road will take me next, but I do know I'd like to stop at some point on the side of it for a candy bar or a soda or something.

PHILOSOPHY

If you can't deal with your own shit, what can you deal with?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I mostly have participated in CS in the Middle East, but if I end up spending more time in America I'll try and participate here as well.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I once went on a CS trip to Sebastia. I also surfed a bit in Haifa one time.

Interests

I'm interested in politics, which is a hard subject to have studied because everyone else is already an expert. I like learning, but only in the vague, unorganized way which requires no actual commitment. I also like food, in fact it's one of my main reasons for travelling. Sure, people in new places are interesting, but you can't eat them. Usually.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books-Fiction:Terry Pratchett, Douglas Adams, Orson Scott Card, bad fantasy novels, assorted others
Books-Non-Fiction:Judith Shklar and other defenders of liberalism, Middle Eastern history, pop economics when I have the energy.
Movies: Things which are funny and/or meaningful
Music: Rap from the 90s, alternative Rock, things which are upbeat, things which I can dance to.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I met the (a?) Palestinian mafia in Hebron one time. Remind me to tell you about that sometime.

Teach, Learn, Share

While some have said it's always an education hanging out with me, I think they were being sarcastic. I can probably tell you one or two things you didn't know about the recent history of the Middle East. I could try to teach you how to juggle, if you've got the balls. I try and teach people how to make bad puns all the time, but they tell me I'm just being obnoxious.

Countries I’ve Visited

Egypt

Countries I’ve Lived In

Jordan, Palestine, United States
