To see! To Learn! To Teach!
I am about to embark on a 6 month adventure that will take me from Toronto to Tulum, then Copenhagen, Istanbul, South Africa, India and Nepal. Not the most logical of routes, I know, but I have a few people I need to drop in on so that's the path I'm taking.
In South Africa I will volunteer my time with the Department of Public Works to help bring Afrika Burn 2017 to life! Afrika Burn is the next largest Burning Man festival outside of the original in Nevada, USA. This will mean a minimum of 4 weeks camping out in the Karoo desert working our butts off each day to build a temporary city for 13,000 participants!! If you have been to The Burn or want to know anything about it, I would love to speak with you! It's one of those topics you can never speak enough about!
I am a fun loving, active and, easy going person that is out to experience life to the fullest! I spend most of my free time out with friends, running, reading or exploring new places in my own city. I live in the core of Toronto and love everything about this city!
Leave everyone you meet better than how you found them, and allow them to do the same for you.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have participated in CS on several fronts, in the early days I had met with a number of surfers and toured them around Toronto, showing them not only the main tourist attractions but also the hidden gems, I have also coordinated rideshares anytime I road trip,I have also hosted when free time allows and I have surfed just once so far!
I have not yet done any couchsurfing of my own at this point but I have hosted and every experience has been an extremely positive one.
Just like you, I am highly interested in travel and exploration. I am slowly but surely beginning to see the world one city at a time. I enjoy art and culture, outdoor activities and getting to know new people, oh and other cultures FOOD!!

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Across the Universe, Good Will Hunting and The Legend of 1900 are definitely in the top 10.
Music: Anything from T Swift to Leonard Cohen, The Fratellis to Daft Punk and anything in-between.
Books: The Millennium Series, Shantaram, Glass Castles, anything by Wilbur Smith, and most Historical Fiction.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of my favourite moments while travelling was unknowingly ending up in Paris on Bastille day, and gathering on the Champ de Mars with thousands of others and watching fireworks around the Eiffel Tower!!! It also happened on that same trip that we were in Madrid during Spain's semi-final Fifa victory which lead to the Plaza Major flooding with people celebrating and dancing in the fountains. The energy was incredible. I feel it is the events that you cannot plan for, the ones that take you by surprise that seem to be the most memorable.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A drink, a laugh and some good stories!! An ear, a shoulder and a hug.
