Overview
About Me
I am curious. I like that people are different, and that we have so much to learn from each other.
I love learning new languages, though I hate spending time studying. Discovering words, connections, how cultures and peoples are interlaced is amazing.
I love food. I choose visit food shops rather than monuments when I travel.
PHILOSOPHY
* Always rely on the kindness of strangers.
* A smile is the shortest distance between two people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet people I wouldn't meet otherwise.
I have hosted a number of people in Maputo, Mozambique, where I lived for some time, as well as in Milan. It has been a great experience meeting people from all over the world, and I have enjoyed nice conversations, learning about countries I didn't know well and making new friends.
Interests
Photography, shapes and colors. Food, music, a healthy mind, body and soul... Late night philosophical discussions over a glass of something.
Stories: be it those from my friends, from writers or movies.
Travelling: which to me means new landscapes, new faces and new ways of living.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: European and American independents. Bleu. Grosse Pointe Blank. I also have a soft spot for the Gilmore Girls.
Music: Singer-songwriter, alternative, jazz... Any tune from Dar Williams, Suzanne Vega, Shawn Colvin, Sinéad O'Connor, Thomas Dybdahl, Paula Cole, Jewel, Indigo Girls, Tori Amos, Florence + the Machine and many, many others. I really would like to get to know more South American and African music.
Books: The Alchemist, The Kite Runner, A Short History of Nearly Everything. Any book by Margaret Atwood, Peter Høeg. Joan Didion. Travel books and biographies.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hiking up Table Mountain was great!
Swimming next to a whale shark as well.
Living a year in the US was interesting.
Finishing my degree in translation was tough, but rewarding.
And any ordinary sunrise is just plain amazing!
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd love to meet people who will share their interest in art, music and spirituality. Or just tell me of their home country.
Stories, cooking and foreign films are a way of travelling too.
I can help you improve you English pronunciation or teach you some words of Danish.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm a darn good cook of several Italian dishes... ahem, modestamente ;-)
