About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to graduate.

ABOUT ME

I am a 26 year old student studying in California, originally from Ahmadabad, India. Right now I am staying in Seattle in the summer for an internship. I am always curious, and love to travel. I have backpacked across Europe and couch surfed there as well. It was a life changing experience!

I am a little shy to begin with, but I get along famously once I get into the comfort zone. I am pretty happy, easy going. My curiosity takes me to varied interests and experiences. I am a kidult who loves food, conversation and games. I am very curious about people, art and culture. Tech enthusiast. Football lover. Beer lover. books and poetry. Love a good laugh!

I love world cinema, comics, urdu poetry, graffiti, and intense drama series.

PHILOSOPHY

I am a pacifist. live and let be. almost atheist. it is possible to appeal to the goodness of people and connect with them. I have very deep existential questions. I am looking for a reason for everything.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am here to Surf and host! I am here for serendipitous experiences. I love people who are interesting, and have had unique experiences in life.

I have hosted 2 guests before. I am proud of my hometown and I love showing people around all that it has to offer.

I have couch surfed once before. I couch surfed in Ghent, Belgium and it was a wonderful experience for me. I would have never understood or seen this town if it hadn't been for the human experience of it. Instead of a tourist check list this place became her take on a place, her own story of it. She showed me graffiti work and told me about graffiti artists that I would never have found on my own and it was a beautiful spontaneous experience.

Interests

Conversations:
I love to chat up and mingle with people and know about esoteric tidbits, crazy experiences and philosophies. There is something beautiful in relaxed, free flowing conversations.

Food and Drinks:
I like trying out new eateries, fusion foods, exotic foods, and local beers. I have survived a few pub crawls.
I enjoy red wine and scotch.

Outdoors:
I enjoy outdoors, especially wandering about late nights on long walks. I have tried out scuba diving, white water rafting, para sailing, mountain biking and riding water scooters.

Sport:
Love watching and playing football/soccer (Arsenal FC fanatic),
I play chess, basketball and table-tennis.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love reading books, I am trying to explore the kind of books that I haven't read before. I really enjoyed reading Shantaram, Zero to One, Lust for Life, The Fountainhead, Harry Potter books, Game of Thrones and Sherlock Holmes! I haven't read many books since I started grad school school.

I am a huge cinema lover, although I don't watch as many movies now because of grad school. I love exploring world cinema. Some of my favorite movies are 12 angry men, Pyaasa, Spring Summer Fall Winter and Spring, The Lives of Others, Cinema Paradiso, 7 samurai.

My musical inclination keeps changing every week. I have explored mainstream genres. I love making playlists and exploring new music. Right now I am onto Indian classical instrumentals, fusion songs, industrial instrumentals, and hip-hop club songs.

favourites are the doors, pink floyd, old school east coast hiphop, wu tang clan, all the stuff by jeff beck, bruce springsteen, pearl jam, and also qawwalis by nusrat fateh ali khan.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have seen the World's end! (Horton plains, Sri Lanka)

I back packed across Europe by myself and survived!

I have been a part of a group of friends who managed to inspire some 100 odd students like me in Kota, to attend meetings of my youth awareness group Junoon, during my school days - we managed to provide food and clothes to a hundred families affected by the floods in the chambal river.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach kite flying! I can also teach how to cook some Indian cuisines.

What I Can Share with Hosts

1 couch, TV, stories, food and some evenings where I can take out time to show you around.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Netherlands, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand
