ABOUT ME

I spend as much time outdoors as possible, either riding my bike or climbing on something. I've spent much of the last year teaching myself how to program and I'm moving to San Francisco to try and land a tech job!

Do good and good people will be attracted to you. Plan for the future, but live for the moment. Life's too short and the world is too large.

I will soon be making the journey from Anchorage, AK to San Francisco. I'll be looking for cool people to stay with along the way!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted people from Europe, South America, and the USA through other sites and contacts. This is my first time on couchsurfing.

Interests

Cycling, rock climbing, dancing, technology and general geekery. If I'm not outside, I'm probably enjoying a nice cold beer or reading up on current tech trends.

Books: Fight Club, The Fault in Our Stars, The Great Gatsby, anything by Malcolm Gladwell, Freakonomics.

Music: Live music is preferable. I'm a fan of just about anything that makes me want to move!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've traveled to Italy, France, Spain, Brazil, and Argentina. I've driven across the USA 2 times and I've driven the ALCAN 3 times. While working in a bike shop in Bar Harbor, ME, I tuned the bikes for President Barak Obama and his troop of secret service workers.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've spent much of the last decade working in the professional bike industry. I've worked in bike shops in Alaska, Vermont, and Maine. I'm pretty handy with a wrench and hammer. I also spent 5 years as an apprentice upholsterer.
