About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To deepen the contrast of my tan lines...

ABOUT ME

I'm a Rochester, NY nomad. Currently pursing my dream of becoming a chef/cook and attending school to make that happen. Trying to talk myself into bike commuting but dreading being outside in the winter cold and slush.

PHILOSOPHY

FUN is my primary motivation. Fun and food!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had a gentleman from Denmark, Rune, come and stay on my couch in Rochester for a weekend a few years ago. Rochester isn't exactly a tourist destination.

Interests

I still love walking around my city and seeing things I haven't seen before. Cooking for other people, eating and drinking are big motivating factors in my life. My friends say that my week is planned around food and I confess that I'm addicted to the stuff and if I stop eating I'll die!

One of my major goals is to find the perfect Goodwill or second hand outfit, shoes to hat. One of my favorite pass times is to dig through a clearance rack at a used clothing store. My ultimate shopping goal (for now) is to get out to LA and go to Its A Wrap warehouse (or the one in Burbank). OOOh's and AAAAh's!

Music, Movies, and Books

The Dune books were very good about revealing to me ideas about power and politics and how they are used. I'm currently reading John Norman's Gor books and really enjoying them. A fiction book about the ins and outs of the movie industry by a former Key Grip, Billy Taylor, made me look at movie credits completely differently after I stayed up and read it in one night.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I camped in the shadow of the stone works in Monument Valley. That was amazing! We did it without a tent and looking up at the stars, with such a big dark sky, it felt like I was falling upwards off of the planet into outer space! It was a terrifying and absolutely amazing experience.
