Hola! I'm currently based in Oviedo, Northern Spain, and working in Aviles. My latest venture has taken me here to teach English, and so far, so good!

I'm learning Spanish at the moment and it's, well, interesting! Tough at times but I'll persevere - I'm determined to see it through!

I'm open minded, relaxed and love traveling and meeting new people. Working abroad is a great way to see the world and explore other cultures and I'm loving every minute of it!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

At the moment, I'll probably be able to take surfers here in Oviedo, I've had some great experiences with CSers back at home! I'm also very interested in language exchanges if anybody would have the patience to teach me some palabras español!

Interests

Reading, writing, traveling, partying, attempting to play musical instruments, climbing rocks, trees and big hills, jumping into water, drinking pints of Guinness (I still haven't found a good pint of it here though! :/), learning all about different cultures (obsessed with finding out as much as possible about Asturian culture at the moment), talking and listening and having the craic!

Music, Movies, and Books

Jaysus - that's tough. Hmmmm. At the moment I'm back to good old reliable Bill Bryson (bookswise). He's always great for a good read! Music..... there's far too much. Anything from Chris Liebing to M83 to Lemonjelly to Rancid to Jeff Mills to The Kinks, and everything in between! Movies..... Pfffft. Again, way too much. I watched The Goonies lst night for the first time in about 10 years. Don't judge me - it's timeless :) Tarantino would have to be up there - I love most of his stuff. Hitchcock. Disney. Miyazaki. Has anyone ever seen Dogtooth? It's a really strange movie, directed by Giorgos Lanthimos? Well, he directed a movie this summer, starring John C. Reilly and Colin Farrell, and I was in it. (My claim to fame!) I'd no lines though! :D

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Scuba diving in Malaysia has to be up there. A rave in the burren, in the West of Ireland, this summer. The craic was mighty! Packing pears in the middle of nowhere in Australia was pretty fun!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Provided my housemate is okay with it and we have space, I can offer a lovely couch in a nice apartment in the middle of Oviedo.
