My name is Anton and I'm a 22-year-old student/IT/logistics worker and amateur actor from Latvia. I live with my girlfriend and try to balance working on two projects, while also having a social life and acting in an amateur theater studio.

I actually have a hard time filling in the 'about me' section, it is usually more informative while engaged in a real conversation.

Generally, I'm all for balance in life. A balance between good and bad, having fun and working, trying to make a point while writing a text about yourself and making no sense at all. You get the point.

I'm apolitical, but more often than not I can describe myself as a progressive person.
I'm also not religious, but I do believe in a principle that what goes around - comes around. That's why I joined Couchsurfing.

While in school, I joined a program that allowed me to travel to small towns of Finland and, most exotically, Greenland. I didn't stay in any hotels, instead, I stayed in the houses of families that chose to welcome me. These people enabled me to understand more about these countries than any tourist guide ever could.
This experience clearly showed me that it is much more enthralling to getting to know a certain country when you're looking at it from the perspective of an ordinary family - just like yours.
Staying or meeting someone local and clearly enthusiastic about traveling as I am and hearing his/her thoughts about the country is the ultimate safari, IMO.

Finding a host with Couchsurfing also takes a certain amount of risks, which adds excitement to the overall experience.

Unfortunately, our landlord wouldn't allow me and my girlfriend to be hosts, so the best that I could offer is providing my own small tour of some of the interesting Latvian places that I know of.

I'm new to Couchsurfing, but I hope the experiences that I will have will be worthwhile!

I generally listen to a great variety of music. However, the majority of it would consist of progressive rock and metal. My three favorite bands of all time are The Mars Volta, Mastodon and Rush.
There are dozens of other artists that I listen to and I try to attend as much music concerts as possible. I also have a list of artists that I'd like to get to know better.

My favorite book is Master and the Margaret by M. Bulgakov.
