I am Russian/Israeli/Canadian. I am a mathematician, so my job involves both teaching and long nights spent thinking about my theorems.

If left to my own devices, I will seek out boardgame playing groups. Also like DnD and video games. Although these may be considered "geeky" things, I don't see myself as a geek. Also used to box, play american football, interned at a trading company.

Some things I have tried recently, and then stopped for whatever reason:

- Ballroom dancing: after 4 months of learning it, I proudly got second place in newcomers waltz. I then decided I should quit while I'm ahead :)

- Took vocal lessons: really wanted to learn how to sing, and got the basics. Karaoke is now an option, but only at 2am after spending 4 hours at a bar.

-Fencing: I took this for a semester and really enjoyed it. Planning to come back to this sport.

Once my geographic location permits it, I'd like to spend time scuba diving, and learning to surf. Also really want to learn to play polo.

CS is a window to connect with people in a new city. It lets me get a deeper experience than just going somewhere to stare at the old buildings.
