ABOUT ME

Hi my name is Toni. I call beautiful Victoria BC home though I do tend to move around a lot and have spent the last year living and working in Calgary. I love to go on adventures, cook beautiful meals, dance to tunes, and do pretty much anything outdoorsy/plant related. I love anything based in the creative brain. I love music, and have dabbled in various instruments, and projects over the years, and I like singing! It is the best to be able to create music with others. I also really love to write.
My mama raised me to have very good manners, which I do, but I'm also a huge goofball with a sharp and dark sense of humour that I like to unleash from time to time. I am blessed to know some pretty amazing people on this here island and we know how to have a good time. Come visit?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Its a great way to get an insiders experience of the place you're visiting, and trying to see a place from a local perspective is one of the best ways to create global community. We can't rely on what we hear from popular media to inform us about another culture, we must experience things for ourselves. I feel EVERYONE on this planet has something important to teach one another. Plus meeting new people is also just tons of fun.

Interests

music. all kinds.
cultural anthropology and anth related stuff (ethnobotany, religion/spirituality, mythology, storytelling etc etc).
I am really intrigued by anything plant and/or occult/magic related. Currently am reading lots about alchemy and alt medicinal practices and also enjoy reading about the many weird sub-cultures that were birthed out of the Victorian era. (Maybe that is why I like living here?)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Summer road tripping to the Yukon with a convoy of bat-crazy girls, camping and hiking Tombstone park and visiting with buffalo on the side of the highway.

I'm not sure if amazing would even be the right word but I've spent a few summers tree planting. Nothing quite like it. Never do you love/hate your life so immensely at the same time. I think everyone needs to give it a go at least once in their lifetime
