Antonio Fresi is a Sardinian drummer based in Western Australia. He is a versatile studio and touring artist. Like many drummers he started playing with pots and pans before graduating to a full drum sets. Growing up Antonio aspired to play around the world like his Uncle Sandro Fresi, the accomplished composer, musicologist and musician of who specializes in ethnic music and medieval instruments. At the age of 14, Antonio commenced rigorous study in every style with a focus on Fusion and Jazz. His teachers over the past decade have included Raphael Saini (Iced Earth), Gian Paulo Conchedda (session drummer) in Italy. In the United States Antonio took up an opportunity to study with Paul Wertico (winner of 7 Grammy awards with Pat Metheny) and Hamid Drake who is widely regarded as one of the best percussionist in jazz Avant improvised music.
