São Paulo to Mexico in a beaten old VW van...

ABOUT ME

Born and raised in Portugal, have lived in France. Amsterdam, The Netherlands kinda feels like home now since I have been there for so (too?) long.

I have studied and worked as an architect but have gladly traded that world for interaction design and the internet 10 years ago. I currently work and teach freelance and have a daughter named Leia whom I love to death.

I enjoy meeting new people and hate writing about myself, or reading profiles that sound too much like a shameless self promoting ad.

I've gotten quite burned out with all sorts of things in my personal life and was in dire need of a break so:

Step 1: Fly to Sao Paulo and buy a beaten old van.
Step 2: Drive it as far as possible towards Mexico city.
Step 3: Avoid being a silly tourist: Find voluntary work along the way, connect with local people/communities and make myself useful.

Currently busy with steps 2 & 3.

UPDATE: Van broke, and then broke again... sadly forced to get rid of it along the way.

There is no feeling i can compare to being completely alone, going to a totally unknown place, to meet a complete stranger... and upon arrival feel immediately at home!
