Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love the sharing / community principles, and I believe Couchsurfing is definitely into that kind of thing.
For example, even though Airbnb is not free, you get to meet local people who give you good tips about what you can do around (hotels might do so as well, but it's always very formal, and you never know if they don't recommend you something with which they get money back).
I'm also a regular customer of self-service bikes / car / scooters, carpooling, car renting from other people.
To put it in a nutshell, I love all those initiatives that make better days.
