About Me

Update October'25: Will be travelling myself until the end of the year, so I can't accept guests right now.

CURRENT MISSION

I'm on the lookout for a sailboat (so hit me up in case you know of one :) ) to start a music-circus-sailboat project in 2025. So currently I'm getting around, trying to find an affordable boat, playing music and sailing.

ABOUT ME

I love learning. About people, their stories, languages, cultures, new skills. I am interested in honoring the ancient teachings and catapulting them into the future. I want to live a life filled with joy and actually all kind of emotions, authenticity, sharing and connecting to my environment. I try to live in a conscious way, it's important to me where my food comes from, how it was grown, which means of transport I use, how many and what kind of ressources I use. However I don't believe in dogmas, I don't believe in black and white. Every aspect in life can be looked at in a million different ways. I think it's important to take oneself not too importantly. And I love joking around, as much as talking endlessly about one tiny detail of life. The last 2 years I've been living in Portugal. I live in my van, currently on a farmhouse in Switzerland with 11 friends. And I love playing all sorts of games, card games, speed games, chess, beach volley ball, juggling, pretty much anything really.

PHILOSOPHY

Nobody is worth more or less than anybody else (saying of my friends' grandmother)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have not been very active in the past few years. I would like to change that. My flatmate is a very active couchsurfer, she just got back from a longer trip and had many nice cs experiences, so I thought I'll get back into it, too.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed some couches in Australia and Cuba, none of them were part of the CS- Community though, that was more spontaneous. My first couchsurf experience with couchsurfing.org took place in Berlin. It was great, very easy- going atmosphere and a good experience. Then just a few more followed. In my old shared house we hosted a lot of couch surfers (about 1 per month). In my current house, my flatmate is doing the hosting responsabilities.

Interests

Music: I play the drums, guitar, accordeon, various percussioninstruments such as the Daf and Bodhran drum and I sing. I'm almost always up for jamming.
Concerts: I love all sorts of live music, psychedelic rock, folk, gypsy, ...
Dancing: I'm dancing Tango and Forró. I love it !
Pottery: I appreciate the calming and spiritual effect of doing pottery. In ceramics you have all the elements included in the process, it's very wholesome.
Travelling: I spent a lot of time travelling, met incredible people, and tried out all sorts of means of transport, from campervan to ferry, hitchhiking to trekking, train to bicycle tours and sailing.

Music, Movies, and Books

Last film I really enjoyed: Smoke Sauna Sisterhood (documentary, I really recommend it). And man on wire (also a documentary, that I also really recommend)
Music: The Brian Jonestown Massacre is my all time favourite live band. Just saw Angry Zeta, an anarchist folk punk band, they were amazing, too
books: Elif Shafak - almost all of her books I devoured, Gregory David Roberts - Shantaram, Clarissa Pinkola Estés - Women who run with the Wolves, Alex Capus' books

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I helped deliver a sailboat from Sicily to Southern Spain, the longest leg was 50 hours so you leave one island and for a long time there's no land in sight. It's just you and water and the sea and the sky. It is truly amazing!

Teach, Learn, Share
