ABOUT ME

About me...I'm a friendly, chatty, reliable, down-to-earth person. Although I love being with my friends and making new ones, I enjoy time by myself and am pretty independent.
I've lived in Brighton for 9 years, originally as a student, but I grew to love the city so I've stayed. I now work full-time, and design/ illustrate/ make things in my spare time â

PHILOSOPHY

I try to live by the rule of treating others as I'd like to be treated. I also live to learn – "every day's a school day":) – to make sure I'm a well-rounded person, have something worth saying... and to keep my brain working properly!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I sadly don't have much experience yet! I met with some lovely fellow Couchsurfers in Norway though. I usually travel to visit friends, and I find it more rewarding to experience a place with help from a local, and reassuring to know I have a familiar face to meet up with. I've signed up to Couchsurfing with the hope that I'll be able to visit some new places and meet a familiar face there too. I'd like to be able to offer the same to visitors to my city.

LOTS of music, mainly indie/ folk/ electro, including: Belle & Sebastian, The Shins, Sigur Rós, Radiohead, Arcade Fire, Blur, Graham Coxon, Vampire Weekend, Fleet Foxes, Beck, Hot Chip, LCD Soundsystem, P J Harvey, Pavement, dEUS, The Flaming Lips, Magnetic Fields, Yeasayer, David Bowie, Blondie, The Smiths, The Cure, Dusty Springfield... and many, many more.

Films... The Lives Of Others, Amelie, Delicatessen, In The Mood For Love, Lost In Translation, Brief Encounter, Monty Python's Life Of Brian, Trainspotting, Control, The Pianist, Tim Burton films, period dramas – and now the really un-cool ones – Grease, Notting Hill, Bridget Jones' Diary and other sharp but slushy things like that.

Books... Anything by Bill Bryson, Zadie Smith, Roddy Doyle, Jane Austen, Roald Dahl and others I can't think of right now. I also love illustrated books, from children's picture books to graphic novels.
