Hola, soy Anyela Gaviria, de Mocoa, Putumayo – Colombia 🇨🇴. Tengo 29 años y trabajo en el Instituto Colombiano de Bienestar Familiar (ICBF), una entidad del gobierno que protege los derechos de los niños, niñas y adolescentes en Colombia.

Soy trabajadora social y me apasiona todo lo que tenga que ver con las personas, las culturas y las historias que hay detrás de cada lugar del mundo.

Durante mi carrera universitaria tuve la oportunidad de recibir a viajeros de muchos países y participar como voluntaria en free walking tours. Desde entonces, mi amor por los idiomas, los viajes y el intercambio cultural no ha dejado de crecer.

En 2019 fui au pair en Alemania y esa experiencia marcó mi vida: me enseñó a valorar la diversidad, la independencia y la belleza de aprender de otras formas de viajar y conocer.

Ahora, después de varios años dedicados a mi profesión y a mi rol como mamá, quiero volver a conectar con esa parte aventurera de mí. En diciembre cumplo 30 años, y he decidido celebrarlo con un viaje muy especial: un recorrido por Europa junto a mi hija de 5 años.

Quiero que este viaje sea una oportunidad para que ella también empiece a descubrir el mundo, las culturas, los idiomas y las personas que lo hacen tan fascinante. Espero poder compartir momentos auténticos con anfitriones locales, aprender de sus historias y crear recuerdos inolvidables juntas. 🌏✨

Hi! I’m Anyela Gaviria, from Mocoa, Putumayo – Colombia 🇨🇴. I’m 29 years old and I work for the Instituto Colombiano de Bienestar Familiar (ICBF), a government organization that protects children’s rights in Colombia.

I’m a social worker, passionate about people, cultures, and the stories behind every place in the world.

While studying my degree, I hosted travelers from many countries and joined a volunteer group that offered free walking tours. That experience sparked my love for traveling, learning languages, and cultural exchange.

In 2019, I worked as an au pair in Germany, and that experience changed my life — it opened my mind and made me fall even more in love with discovering the world.

Now, after years focused on my career and my role as a mother, I’m ready to reconnect with that adventurous part of me. In December I’ll turn 30, and I’ve decided to celebrate it with a special trip through Europe with my 5-year-old daughter.

I want this journey to be a chance for her to explore, learn about different cultures, languages, and people, and to create unforgettable memories together. I’d love to meet local hosts, share stories, and experience the world through real human connections. 🌍💫

Creo que Couchsurfing es una hermosa forma de conectar con el mundo. Me encanta conocer personas con buenas energías, escuchar sus historias, aprender de sus experiencias y compartir un poco de la vida cotidiana de cada lugar.

Como local, disfruto mostrar mi ciudad, su cultura, su gastronomía y esas pequeñas cosas que no aparecen en las guías turísticas. Me gusta que quienes me visitan se lleven un pedacito real y humano de Colombia. 🇨🇴✨

Y ahora que planeo viajar por Europa junto a mi hija, me emociona seguir conociendo nuevas culturas, aprender de cada persona en el camino y devolver un poco de la hospitalidad que alguna vez yo también ofrecí y recibí. 🌍💛

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Soy del Putumayo, pero estudié mi carrera en otra ciudad de Colombia. Allí alquilaba una habitación en un apartamento compartido con otros estudiantes. Un día les pregunté si podía recibir viajeros a través de Couchsurfing, aunque no tuviera una habitación extra ni una cama libre.

A veces mis amigos me prestaban sus habitaciones, y otras veces los huéspedes dormían en un colchón en el piso, pero siempre los recibí con todo mi cariño y las ganas de que se sintieran cómodos en mi país.

Lo más lindo fue descubrir que todos, sin importar las condiciones, valoraban más la experiencia humana que la comodidad material. Compartimos comidas, risas, historias y momentos sencillos que hoy recuerdo con mucho amor.

Esa experiencia me enseñó que la esencia de Couchsurfing está en abrir el corazón, no la casa; en compartir lo que tienes, aunque sea poco, y en crear conexiones genuinas con personas de todo el mundo. 🌍✨

I’m from Putumayo, but I studied my degree in another city in Colombia. I used to rent a room in an apartment with other students, and one day I asked them if I could host travelers through Couchsurfing — even though I didn’t have a spare room or an extra bed.

Sometimes my roommates kindly lent me their rooms, and other times guests would sleep on a mattress on the floor. But I always welcomed them with all my love and the wish to make them feel comfortable in my country.

What amazed me most was that every traveler appreciated the human connection more than any comfort. We shared food, laughter, stories, and simple but meaningful moments that I’ll never forget.

That experience taught me that the real spirit of Couchsurfing is about opening your heart, not just your home — sharing what you have, even if it’s little, and creating genuine connections with people from all over the world. 💫

Teach, Learn, Share

Me encanta aprender de todo: gastronomía, experiencias, idiomas, costumbres… cada persona tiene algo valioso que enseñar.

Amo bailar —especialmente salsa— y me encanta compartir esa energía con los demás. Si quieres, puedo enseñarte algunos pasos y disfrutar juntos de buena música. 💃
