About Me

I'm a 20 year old student from the wet and windy north-west of Ireland, in a small village by the coast called Killala.
Beautiful place with many beautiful people, although most people's mentalities are quite similar so I want to hear philosophies and opinions from lots of different people so that I can build on my own.

Irish stereotypes are quite accurate, a lot of our culture is accompanied by drinking but how else does one have the craic?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm travelling to Berlin for the summer with my friend Clara as we realised there is much more to the world than the narrow minded town we grew up in. Going home to that town from University is always quite hard as even though we have changed, they have not.

I also will be moving back to Galway city in September for university and would love to accommodate people who are visiting the West. Although very busy with my studies, I would love to show people around Galway and introduce them to the Irish culture. I truly am very proud of Ireland and its unique beauty so would be thrilled to share my passion with others.

Interests

I prefer spending my money on memories rather than material things so have seen many brilliant musicians and plan to see many more. There's just something so perfect about concerts; the sun has been on our backs all day (hopefully), and the crowd as one just sways and sings the lyric without any reservations.
I also thoroughly enjoy losing myself in books and spending days in other people's worlds.
Although I know how to have a good time, I am very passionate about my studies and achieving the best I can be.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music tastes are very broad and I am open to listening to new stuff. I enjoy everything from indie to folk to house.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

*Gore warning*
The first time I held a human heart in class, I realized that becoming a doctor and having the privilege of being able to save someone's life was the right choice for me. The human body is an amazing thing that through knowledge you grow to appreciate the intricacies that make every one of us both the same and unique.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I aspire to bring the Irish coffee recipe worldwide. For those who don't know, it's a freshly brewed coffee with a generous dash of Irish whiskey topped with heavy cream. Perhaps not suitable for morning, but I suppose that depends on what kind of morning person you are.
I am just beginning to make my own travel stories but I would love to hear from someone with experience.
Also for someone who shares a fascination about the human body and science that I do, I could share some of the amazing things I've learned so far.
